At exactly 6 PM on Saturday night I walked into the ring of oak trees that pointed out the exact middle of our territory. His territory, technically. Alpha sat on a hammock, completely at ease, but then again, I didn't expect him to wear a suit and be tense or anything. He was dressed as casually as a man of sixty eight could be. I walked to the middle and bowed my head, saying in a loud clear voice "You wished to see me, Alpha?"
"Zaili, I hope you have been well. I meant to contact you sooner, but the Council have been exceptionally demanding lately. But now tell me child, what is your current status on your little... problem?"he replies in a steady monotone.
"I am sorry, Alpha, but I have made no more progress in the last month. I am confused by him, Alpha," I say, bowing my head in shame.
'Sucks not being able to lie to the person who can basically call every single shot in you life,' I think to myself.
"Child, this is getting out of hand! I have told you, we do not mix with humans! I f the world learned about Morphs, we would be hunted down! You know that, don't you?" he glares at me, seemingly calm.
"I understand, Aplha, but I do not know how to handle the situation anymore. I has gone past the point of which you warned me, Apha."
"So you're seeking help?" he asks, confused.
"Yes, Alpha, I seek help. I need to get him out of my life, or at least get him to understand that we are never going yo be anything but friends. He needs to understand that, but I need gelp doing it."
"I knew you would crack before long!" he exclaims, excited.
"Alpha?" I ask, unsure of what he was planning.
"Just follow me," he smiled, and and starts leading me into the forest-wood. We had such weird plantlive around here that I just started combining the two, calling it food.
I followed him blindly, neither of us saying anything; we walked for about half a mile before I picked up a scent. A Morph. A new Morph. Alpha pushed thrpugh the door of a little cottage that seemed to pop out of nowhere, not even bothering to be silent.
"Ashton!" Alpha yelled into a few doors until he got to the third door down a small hallway. The smell was the strongest right here. We walked in, but Ashton was not in sight, though I sensed his presence.
"Alpha," said the guy dropping from the roof's beams into a crouch, giving me all but a heart attack. I frown at him.
"Ashton, get up boy! I would like for you to meet Zaili. Zaili, this is Ashton, your new... well... boyfriend," Alpha smiled as if he was proud of himself.
"Ex-excuse me?" I stutter in a thin, high-pitched voice.
"Well, Ashton here was a Lone until about four days ago, whilst you were away of that little school trip of yours. Tatiana found him. He was carelessly wandering the edge of the Territory. His previous pack, a local Canadian pack, kicked him out. I took him in; he's one of us now, and also the solution to your problem," Alpha starts rambling.
I stare at him; he can't be serious.
He gives me a pointed look and smiles at Ashton. I give another glance to a standing up straight Ashton. He was fine looking. Bit more than fine really, but he was not hot or mouthwatering or whatever girls call it these days. Blonde hair and gray eyes, muscular, all that jazz.
I sigh and close my eyes. I did not like this plan, but I could see the logic behind it.
I glance at Alpha and sigh "Okay."
"Hey, Ashton," I smile, meeting his eyes, "I'm Zaili Amberton. Would you like to be friends?" I extend me hand to him.
"I would love to," Ashton smiles at me, and wow. His smiling him was an über different him. Now he really was, with complete confidence, all that jazz. I loved looking at his smile... it made his face's worry-lines disappear.
"Would you like to be good friends?" he asks and takes my hand, placing a kiss on it.
I laughed. Alpha nodded approvingly. He was happy. He didn't want to force this on me; he liked giving decisions, but he would always have the final say in every one of them.
Dad was so similar to his father.
