If I dream twice in a month, it's more than usual. This is the third time.
I don't know if this qualifues as a dream. Basically, all I'm doing is sitting around in a green world. I think I am sipping ice tea, but my memory in dreams are so pathetic.
This dream is peaceful, I guess. It's just me and my maybe ice tea. And then this brown wolf with grey flecks steps into my vision. It is beautiful.
'Ashton is in my dream!' Is just about the last thing I remember before the excitent wakes me up.
"Ugh," I mutter, glaring at the barely visible lump next to me. Ahston prefers being overheated to underheated, so he piles up on those blankets.
"Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, little ball of fur. Happy Kitty, Sleepy Kitty, purr, purr, purr..." I sang softly down at Ashton.
I have no idea where that came from.
'Delusional ', I scold myself. I watched as Ashton turned onto his other side, his face and hair now barely visible. How he breathes underneath a blanket, I do not know. I can't, it always feels like the total oxygen is exhausted before I am.
Tentatively, I reach out and push some of his hair away from his face, Rapunzel style. I was contemplating trying to see how much of his long, blonde hair I could braid before he woke up, but I was cut off.
By a howl. Alpha's howl.
If there is one thing ypu need to know about a Morph pack, it's that the Alpha is above heaven itself. There is no higher level. No board or committee exists that could ever have any amout of control over Alphas.
We are nothing compared to an Alpha.
So when an Alpha calls you, there is one reaction.
Get up and get going. You never deny any order-direct or indirect-from an Alpha.
Ashton was up the second I was. We were both out the door in seconds. We ran at full speed through the food, Ashton in short, me wearing the same jeans I slept in. When our Alpha call, it is not a plea fpr socialisation.
We ran the entire mile before we reached the Center. The entire pack, safe for Tatiana and Dimitri, was already present.
Everyone was still un-Morphed. Wolvea can't really maintain an actual conversation, although they can produce certain sounds which carries over spesific messages.
Alpha sat in the middle of the Center on a stump. Don't really know where that comes from.
Ashton and I share one single look before he wraps his hand around mine and pulls me closer to his side. He is protective when it comes to me.
Once again, I do not know how to feel about it.
"Present!" a disheveled Tatiana yells when she enters the Center. Dimitri was quick on her heels. Too quick, as he fell down on her when he gave a lengthy stride. All they got was scowls.
"I have called you this morning, for there is a matter at hand which affects all of you and demands your undivided attention," Alpha spoke gravely as he stared down on all of us. My father, being the Peaceholder that he is stiffened next to Mom. She, being my mum, smiled harshly-she is a Hunter-at the pre-war type talk.
"I encountered a Lone earlier this morning. This Lone could not be forgiven for comitted crimes like our newest member. Before I had gotten rid of this specific Lone, it told me something," Alpha continued, meeting each of our eyes as he spoke.
"The Lone told me that a "they" is preparing an army. The Lones are preparing an army. Every Lone within a 500 mile radius will form a pack," Alpha paused, giving us time to wrap our heads around this. A quick glance told me I, with the exception of Alpha, was tge only calm one. Hunters were rigid, Peaceholders seemed tormented, Warriors were ranging from excited expressions to dreading ones. I guess it all depends on what they're fighting for.
"Yes, they will outnumber us, but we are more than they are. We have bonds, we have loyalty, and we are a connected pack! They will never rule over us. In battle, they will fall," Alpha spoke with finality. He was leaving no room for doubt, only for steadily building hope.
"From what I could gather, this pack does not have an Alpha yet, so this may all be for nothing. Keep in mind, while it may be for nothing, I can also be something. Actions must be taken, though the few I wish to make are more of suggestions. They will not be performed if there is any strong opposition to the idea," Alpha said calmly.
"I want to move three of our younger members up for an early Initiation. Zaili, Calla and Shane, that means you."
