Please, kill me now.
I hate art class.
I keep glancing over to the clock, waiting for the bell to ring.
At times like this, I like to take a look at what the hell im doing with my life.
I hadn't really made any friends at midtown.
Not that I'm complaining.
Sure, I had Ned and Michelle. And Peter, of course.
I occasionally talked to Gwen, she's in a few of my classes.
I can see why Peter likes her. She's just...nice to everyone.
It's also hella annoying when random guys I don't even know come up to me.
And, even creepier when the happen to know my name.
In a way, it's kind of hilarious, when they use cheesy pick up lines like 'I'm not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together' and shit like that.
This one guy, Dylan, won't give up. He definitely has determination.
As soon as the bell rang, I picked up my bag, and ran out of the room.
"Y/N! Wait!" Gwen called.
Why. Why me.
"What's up?" I asked, forcing a smile. I just wanted food. Is that too much to ask?
"I was wondering, do you want to audition for the school musical? It's gonna be Carrie."
"No thanks. Theatre's not really my thing."
"Just think about it, yeah?" She asked, placing her hand on my shoulder.
"Ok, sure. Gotta go I said, walking away.
Why would some want me to join the musical if they haven't even heard me sing? It makes no sense.
As I walked into the cafeteria, I walked to our usual table, and sat down next to Michelle.
"I'm so fucking done," I sighed.
"What a mood," she laughed.
"Gwen asked me to audition for the musical," I laughed, handing her the flyer Gwen gave me.
"Oh my god, you should."
"Fuck no, I ain't doing that shit. Why don't you?"
"Have you met me?" She asked, with a straight face.
I stared at her for a couple seconds, and then we both burst out laughing.
"Uh, don't look now, but Peter's staring at you," she whispered.
"W-what? No," I stuttered, my cheeks getting hot.
"Oh yes, he is. Again," she chuckled, availing her head.
Again?!
I looked over to Peter, as he was casually looking over at Gwen.
That's what I thought.
"Um, no he's not," I whispered back to her.
"Check again," she winked. "Hey Peter, watcha lookin at?"
"N-nothing," he mumbled.
I turned in my seat to face him and Ned.
I slid across the bench, so I was across from them.
"I'm bored. Wanna play truth or dare?" I smirked.
"I dunno," Peter said.
"Why not? What are you hiding, Peter?" Michelle raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, Uhm, Nothing. Yeah ok. Let's play."
"I'm cool with it," Ned nodded.
"Alright, who wants to go first?" I asked.
"Me. Y/N," Michelle smirked.
"Oh god," I chuckled.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare," I narrowed my eyes.
She smiled, evily.
"I dare you to audition for Carrie: The Musical."
"Oh come onnnnm," I mumbled, hiding my face in my hands.
"And, you have to sing in front of everyone. Right now."
"Hey, that's two," I protested.
"Do it, it'll be fine," Peter laughed.
"Well, you haven't heard my voice so," I looked at Michelle.
"I have," Peter smirked. "Do it. Are you chicken?"
Ned grabbed the flyer from the table.
"And auditions are today after school. We'll come and support you," he smiled.
"Fine, ok. What song?" I sighed.
"Do a riff off song, like a couple weeks ago," Peter said, and doubled over laughing.
"What's a riff off?" Ned and Michelle asked in unison.
"From a movie," I shook my head.
I took a deep breath, and stood up. I decided to be extra, so I climbed up, and stood on top of the table.
"Here goes nothing," I mumbled.
"It's going down, fade the Blackstreet. The homies got RB collab' creations, Bump like acne, no doubt. I put it down, never slouch. As long as my credit could vouch a dog couldn't catch me, straight up, Tell me who could stop when Dre making moves, Attracting honeys like a magnet, Giving 'em eargasms with my mellow accent, Still moving the flavor with the homies Blackstreet and Teddy, The original rump shakers," I recited. By now, everyone was staring at me.
I looked down at my friends, and Peter was smiling.
"Shorty get down, good Lord. Baby got them open up all over town. Strictly biz she dont play around. Cover much ground, got game by the pound," I continued. " Getting paid is a forte, Each and every day true player way. I cant get her outta my mind, I think about the girl all the time, I like the way you work it, No diggity, I got to bag it up, Baby."
I finished, and everyone stared clapping.
"Thank you, thank you, I'm here every Friday night folks," I yelled, sitting back down.
"Badass," Ned nodded his head.
"Woah, I never knew you could sing like that. Now I'm glad you're auditioning."
"Thanks," I blushed.
" I don't even know why Gwen asked me to."
"Well, you're probably going to get the part. Who are you gonna try and play?" She asked.
I read the flyer, looking at the character descriptions and names.
"Probably Sue or Chris."
"Cool," Peter grinned.
~~~
The rest of the day went normally, but it was time for auditions.
"Watch where you're going, bitch," someone hissed as they bumped into me in the theatre.
God, I would recognze that voice anywhere.
"Are you auditioning?" I asked.
"Funny. No. I'm playing Carrie, no need for me to audition. The part is mine."
You've got to be fucking kidding me.
