poem no.6: dance of two:
-
Pas De Deux.
Also known as the Dance of Two.
Or,
Two Bodies, One Soul.
If you're a dancer,
Dancing isn't just an act.
It means something.
For me,
Dancing is the most intimate thing you can do with another person.
If I dance with someone,
It means I'm sharing a piece of my soul with them.
A piece of my heart.
It means I trust them enough to let them see something so important to me.
Dancing makes me vulnerable.
It shows my true emotions in the way I move.
Few get to see me that vulnerable.
That open.
Dancing requires passion.
If you don't feel it in your heart,
Then it's not right.
It's more than steps stringed together to make moves to a song.
It's a state of mind.
It's a heartbeat.
It's feeling a pulse when your feet hit the ground.
So,
To share that heartbeat,
That pulse,
With another is a bond stronger than any other.
It brings true meaning to
Two Bodies, One Soul.
When you share a dance with someone,
Especially a dance as intimate as the Pas De Deux or the Tango,
You are baring a part of your soul
And you are joining it with part of theirs.
It's where raw emotions mix to create something.
Something so indescribably beautiful.
What you share is so beyond physical.
It's everything at once.
That is why dancing is the most intimate act.
The feelings,
The Passion,
Everything.
You are completely exposed.
