Expectations.
They're everywhere
We're all expected as a member of society to do things a certain way,
To act a certain way,
To dress a certain way,
And even to feel a certain way.
And what happens when a person breaks the expectation?
We outcast them and act like they don't belong here.
Like they were never here in the first place.
Women are expected to cook and clean for their partner.
Men are expected to work and bring in money.
Men can do things that women get shamed for and vise versa.
But think of it this way;
Before I am a Brother or sister,
A husband or wife,
A daughter or son,
Or even a friend.
I am my own person,
And I shouldn't have to set myself on fire,
Just to make you feel warm.
