A/N: Eh, I'm in an updating mood. So here's a totally random update that wasn't going to exist until Wednesday. Enjoy!
P.S.- I love you guys so much for the support and everything. My faithful few are who keep me writing <3
Your eyes slowly drifted open, clouded with sleep. Dean's arm was draped over your side as the back half of your body was pressed into his stomach. The warmth washed over you and felt amazing. Just before closing your eyes again in attempt to fall back asleep, you could have sworn you saw Sam smirking off to the side of the bed while snapping a picture on his phone of Dean and you.
It's probably just a residual dream from the sleep, you told yourself.
You weren't sure how much time had passed when you heard the brothers conversing. Dean was still beside you with his arm wrapped around you, only now you felt your head resting on his chest. Embarrassment told you to move, but since he thought you were still sleeping, you decided to relish the moment of contact. You couldn't even begin to remember when the last time you had been this close to another person was. Hunting alone for so long certainly had its pitfalls.
"Just let her sleep a little longer," Dean said gently.
"Dean, we need to get this case moving before anyone else dies," Sam retorted.
"She had a rough night."
"Since when did you care so much about her? Don't get me wrong, I like her and want her to feel her best, but you..."
"Sam, anytime people get close to us..." His arm tightened around you instinctively. "Every time people get close to me, they die. I don't want that for her. I've cared about her well-being since day one, but I don't want her to feel like she can be close to me."
Your heart was breaking at his words. Being close with people as a hunter was dangerous and hard. That was why almost any hunter you had ever come across had their walls up. It was why you always had yours up. Hunters everywhere were always suspicious and untrusting because the alternative meant making friends. The alternative almost always led to heartbreak.
"Dean, you can't—"
You stirred in Dean's arms and made a noise as you pretended to wake up. The conversation immediately ceased.
"It's about time, sleepyhead," Dean said to you.
You stretched your limbs out and yawned, sitting up. "What's the plan?" you questioned before the yawn was even over.
Sam and Dean shared a look before Sam removed himself from the small, round table he was sitting on. "The plan is to capture Stephen and find out what else he knows about his 'family'."

The three of you spent the day preparing for the ambush on Stephen. The boys packed a few silver machetes that they had acquired over the years and regular silver knives. You had helped fill up the gun magazines with silver bullets. Dean assured you that the bullets wouldn't kill the Starship, but it sure as hell would slow him down.
After gathering everything that would be needed for the hunt, your small group stopped for lunch at the diner Dean had taken you to the night before. Sam kept the conversation up, which made you feel comfortable and at home. You knew that Sam was going to become your best friend in the near future. Things were easy with him, and he had a caring soul. A caring soul was hard to come by in hunters, and, even though Dean seemed to be more beaten down by the lifestyle than Sam, you could tell he had a caring soul as well.
Once you all finished with lunch, Dean drove back to the motel and idled in front of your room.
"What are we doing?" you questioned. The original plan was to scope out the store immediately after lunch to see if there was anything suspicious going on.
