Going back on time

Surrender

I guess this is the end of me, Dave was pointing his gun at me already, he was about to pull the trigger when we heard footsteps, it came from the living room and a man's voice spoke.

"Hailey? Mark? You here?"

"We have a guest." Dave whispered,

Then Dave dragged me by my hair, we climbed up the stairs and he went out the door showing himself, he first hid me behind.

"Who are you?" Dave asked pointing his gun at someone,

"I'm Mark's niece." The man said,

"And who are you to Hailey?"

"I'm her boyfriend."

I was shocked to hear it, I never had a boyfriend, then Dave looked at me and toss me out of the room, I lay in the floor and saw that Jake was there, Jake tried coming to me but Dave pointed his gun at him.

"Don't even try." Dave said,

"Can you let her go?" Jake asked,

"I'm afraid I cannot, this girl murdered my wife."

"I told you I didn't." I cut in,

"No, you did."

"Mark! Claire! Come up here." Dave called,

Mark and Claire came out and Mark was confused to see Jake in the living room.

"What the... why are you here?" Mark asked,

"I'm here for Jane Lim." Jake responded,

He looked at me while I looked down, Dave pointed the gun at Jake.

"You, go down the basement, and if you try to escape, a bullet will be planted on their brains." Dave said as he pointed the gun at us,

Jake slowly walked to the basement, Dave made us follow Jake, we all were at the basement, and Dave locked the door, we all stood there in silence, Dave looked at me.

"I don't want to kill you first." Dave said,

"Then what do you want me to do?" I asked,

"I want you to surrender yourself to the Police."

"What?"

"I won't let you go but your phone will lead them to us."

He started to open my phone and text Detective.

"Okay, send." Dave mumbled,

He brought back my phone to my pocket, He stood in the middle of the room so he was the center of attention.

"Are you doing this because I accidentally killed your wife?" I asked,

"Yes." He responded,

"Are you serious? If it's just because of her, then why do you have to involve my friends?"

"I have reasons, let's start with Mark, I guess he still hasn't told you anything right?"

"What do you mean?"

"Mark kept a secret from you, he never told you about us helping in the first place."

"What is he talking about Mark?"

"It's true, we used to help each other in the first place, but I didn't help anymore once he told me that he was looking for you and kill you."

"That's why you searched for me?"

"Yeah."

I let out a sigh and Dave spoke again.

"Also, Claire, I had to kidnap her as a bait, And lastly Jake, he's seen what I did, If I let him go he will tell the Police and I'll end up in jail."

I sighed again, then I saw another gun at Dave's pocket, I immediately stole it and pointed at him.

"Let us go." I said,

"Okay, go." Dave said scaredly,

We all ran upstairs but before I could go out the room, Dave shot my leg and I screamed in pain, Jake tried to help me but Dave grabbed my foot, I pointed the gun at him and before I could pull the trigger, I heard sirens from outside, Claire took the gun from my hand and she pulled the trigger, we became confused as no bullets came out from the gun, then Dave laughed.

"It was so easy to fool you." He said,

"I knew that Jane was smart enough to steal the gun from my pocket, so I didn't load any bullets." He continued,

We all gasped, and Dave ran vastly to Claire and pointed the gun at her.

"Go to the living room and surrender." Dave said,

Jake held me up and we went to the living room, Claire and Dave went to the living room also and I saw Detective Marco along with other cops.

"Sir, put your hands in the air now." Charlie said,

"No, Hailey surrender yourself or I'll shoot Claire." Dave said,

"Sir, we're gonna have to shoot you if you try to shoot her."

"Hailey surrender now, I'm going to count in three..."

"Two..." Dave continued,

"One..."

"Okay, okay I surrender." I said,

"I'm Jane Lim." I shouted,

The Police started to point their gun at me.

"Put your hands in the air." Charlie said,

I put my hands in the air and the police started to put hands at the back and put handcuffs, I saw that Dave's hands were also in handcuffs, they put me in the Police Car and we drove, we arrived in the Prison and saw that there were lots of news reporter, I could hear them all.

"Detective Marco!"

"Oh my, is that Jane Lim?"

I heard it all but I only hid my face and went in the prison, I saw the women's prison ahead of me but Detective Marco led me to a hallway on my right, they opened the cell and I found no one was in it.

"Am I gonna be alone?" I asked,

"Yes, this is where we put prisoners that commited lots of crime, and we give them death penalties, we officers will discuss wether to give you a death penalty or not." Marco responded,

Marco left and I was alone already, I scanned the room and found nothing, I sat in the corner while my knees reached my stomach, I thought that I guess I'm dying today.
