Going back on time

Death Penalty

July 24, 12:30PM

I sat as I thought about everything that happened, I can never change the past, and I know that this was happening already, I shouldn't have tried to steal the knife away from Amelia, and Claire wouldn't have been abducted and I shouldn't have stabbed my father to death, I should've just let him go to prison so I wouldn't be hiding from the Police, tears stream down my face as I thought all about it, I saw a sharp rock, the wall was made of stone so I carved something on it, as I finished, I read it again.

"I should've just let him go to prison and I shouldn't have stolen the knife from Amelia."

It was the only thing I can do now, I just read it over and over again, until I memorized it, thoughts started to come in my mind again, I thought about Me and Claire hanging out and Mark and I time traveling, and Me and Jake kissing and hugging, I smiled and ducked my head to my knees.

Later, Marco came back.

"Hailey, we've discussed about it and you'll be facing a death penalty."

I nodded.

"We'll start tomorrow, I'm sorry." Marco continued,

They left again and I burst out crying, I kneel on my knees and lied down on the floor, all I thought about was me standing in the middle and being killed, I accidentally slept because of crying.

July 25, 07:20AM

I woke up and I was lying on the floor, there were Police outside and they were watching me.

"Get up, Jane Lim." One of the police said,

I did stood and they left, I wondered why they had to make me stand, I sat in the corner and thought all about this once again, I heard footsteps coming at my cell.

"You must prepare yourself at eleven o'clock." Marco spoke,

I teared up again and I wept them away, I was hyperventilating, I tried to calm myself and prepared until eleven o'clock.

Claire's POV

I was in the hospital, I still wore my clothes that I wore at Jane Lim's old house, I wasn't really injured that much so I didn't have to lie in the hospital bed, I only had been treated slightly, I focused on my hand until I heard the news about Jane Lim, they said she surrendered, and the reporter calmly told us the news, I was horrified as I heard that Jane was given a death penalty by killing fifty people, I immediately stood and walked out of the room.

"I have to go." I said,

"But we're not done yet." The nurse said,

I only ignored the nurse and made my way to the exit, I saw Jake and Mark in their car.

"Hey! Do you know Jane's getting a death penalty?" I asked,

"Yeah, that's where we're going." Jake responded,

"Well I'm coming with you."

I got in the car and Jake drove like a maniac, I almost got toss in the side and the car stopped, I didn't realized that we were at the Police Station already, we got out of the car and we ran to the Police.

"Hey, do you know where Jane Lim is?" Mark asked,

"She's got a death penalty." The police responded,

"Where is the place?"

"It's at DandeField, but you aren't allowed to go in there."

We immediately went to the car and drove to DandeField, and once again, I kept sliding at my car and I felt a little bit dizzy, I wished that they still hasn't started or I'll never forgive myself.

Hailey's POV

I was at the Police car, my hands were handcuffed again, I guess this is really the day I die, I felt numb when I was in the car, I didn't knew where we were going but I knew that's where I'll face the death penalty, I kept looking at my handcuffs, then suddenly a car was driving vastly past us, they were heading towards us, and I saw DandeField, the police car stopped and I realized the fast car was parked ahead of us.

"What the...?" Marco said,

"We should step out the car." Charlie said,

They both stepped out the car leaving me alone, I didn't know why they just left me, but I saw them speaking to the people on that car, then I saw at Marco's seat that there were keys, and I thought the keys at my handcuffs could be one of those.

Mark's POV

I was getting dizzy by Jake's driving, I can even see that Claire was getting dizzy also.

"Jake, could you atleast slow down?" I asked,

"I don't want to, I have to get in DandeField in time, I want Jane alive."  Jake responded,

I nodded, I didn't care of getting dizzy, an innocent life was getting a death penalty, we had to save her, we were still on the way, and I hope we get on DandeField in time before someone pulls the trigger.

Hailey's POV

I tried to reach the keys, but I couldn't, I saw in the window that a man came out from the fast car, it was the chief, he came out and I lost hope, Marco came to the car and I stepped out of the car, I kept looking down the grass, I didn't want to make eye contact with the Chief, I only followed where Marco was going, then we stopped.

"Stay here." Marco said,

I stayed where Marco told me, then I saw more cars appeared, I just noticed that there weren't any people at the field, I looked around and saw that Mens started to come in the field, Marco spoke to them and they started to surround me, and I noticed that I was in the center, they all were forming a circle, and I was in between, they suddenly pointed their rifle at me, Marco took off my handcuffs and my hands were free, then I saw Marco held a megaphone and spoke.

"Okay, listen up. Only one of you has a bullet, and you don't know who so you must point it at her or you'll hit someone else, I'll count to three."

I looked down at the grass, knowing that this is the end of me, I hope Jake finds someone better than a killer, and hope that Claire have a best friend who doesn't kill people, and Mark to be with the woman he liked, I closed my eyes as Marco started to count.

"Three..."

"Two..."

"One..."
