Going back on time

July 22, 01:00PM

"Come with me to my place." Mark said,

"Why?" I asked,

"Because that is where we'll start our mission."

I nodded and left with him. We finally  arrived at his house and we went in, Mark told me that we will go somewhere first, so I followed him, he stood in front of a bookshelf, took a book and started to type something, then the bookshelf turned and it led to a room.

"Wow." I said,

"Cool right?" He said,

I smirked, he opened the door and what I saw in the room made my jaw drop.

"So, This is your Time Machine?" I asked,

"Yes, it took me decades of years to build this, and five years to make it work 100%." He responded,

"So, you made this when you were still like... 19?"

"Oh yes."

"Guess it's really hard to build."

"I started making machines since I was nine."

"Really?"

"Yeah, this is the first machine I built."

He pointed to a box, he opened it and there was a watch.

"You made a watch?" I asked,

"No, not just a watch, It can actually track you and it has secret camera and voice recorder, you just click the button at the side, you can also call a person but it must be registered first." He responded,

"Cool."

"I think you should keep that."

"What?"

"In case of an emergency, I have registered my phone number already so if a person takes or steal your phone, you still have that watch."

"But you made this."

"It's okay, I made like three of them, you can keep one."

"Thank you, Mark."

He smiled and he went to the Time Machine, it was as huge as a house, that must be why the room is big, he started to type something from a table, there was a keyboard and he looked at me.

"Come here, this is where you write the date." He said,

"So, I just write the date and that's it?" I asked,

"Yep."

"That's easy."

"But hard to build."

I started to remember the date, then I typed it.

"July 21, 2018."

"The time too actually." He said,

I typed the time, 7:50PM, The Time Machine lighted with blue light.

"Okay, you know the rules, your self at that time must not see your face or things will get worse." Mark warned me,

I nodded and he first gave me a mask, I wore it and went in the portal, I saw colorful sides which made me dizzy, I felt the ground and finally I opened my eyes.

(July 21, 05:00PM)

"Hailey, stand up, we're here already." Mark said,

I lifted my hand to see that I was in July 21 already, I immediately stood, I covered my face with my mask, we immediately went to my house and we saw myself got out of the house, We followed myself, the thing is, my self kept looking back, so we have to hide behind things just not to get caught, now we saw myself bump into a beggar, I watched the beggar and suddenly she disappeared into thin air.

"Miss. Perem?" Mark mumbled,

"Who?" I asked,

"That was Miss. Perem, I don't know what she was doing here."

"Come on, my self is about to be at Claire's."

"Wait, you said you went out nine o'clock, let's skip time."

I nodded and Mark took out a ball, he rubbed it and the place started to become wobbly.

"Think about the event at nine o'clock." Mark said,

I did, and I rubbed the ball, we still were at the same spot, then a man appeared, Mark asked what time it is and the man replied "nine o'clock.", I saw myself left the house, so I hid behind Mark, we couldn't find a place to hide but I let out a deep sigh as myself just walked towards without looking back.

"That was close." Mark said,

I walked slowly towards Claire's house, it was peaceful, I even saw her went to her bedroom, I then looked away first to look behind me, Mark was standing beside me, I saw something sticking out of his pocket.

"Is that a gun?" I asked,

"No, It's just like a gun but when you shoot, a ball comes out and sticks to a wall, and it has a camera." He responded,

"Great! Shoot Claire's window."

"Alright."

He shot Claire's window and a ball came out.

"Now, where do we see the recording?" I asked,

"It's in the tablet." He responded,

"Where's your tablet?"

"At the room."

"Then, let's go back already."

Mark took out a square thing, and it had a red button, he pressed it and the colorful colors came again, this time I only felt a bit dizzy.

July 22, 01:20PM

We fell to the floor, and I saw that we were back to the room.

"That was awesome." I said,

"Come on, the tablet's here." Mark said,

I followed him and he showed me the tablet, I saw inside Claire's room, but we became confused as we saw that Claire wasn't in her room anymore, then I felt my phone buzzed in my pocket.

"Yes Detective?" I asked,

"Hailey, I found Claire's phone and this ball thingy." He responded,

"Do you wanna meet?"

"At Claire's house."

"I'll be there."

I hang up the phone, I searched through my Missed calls, and I was horrified to see that Claire sended me several voicemails at that night.
