"... I should. .... get back. Thank you so much for teaching me to shoot a gun though, it's.... a good skill." You smiled at Harvey appreciative, he nodded back in return.
"... alright. Catch you later." He said simply, you nodded and left the room. Harvey didn't have everything right all the time, but he knew this place probably better than anyone. He'd be a good person to come to for advice, or a second opinion on things. ..... and then, as always, you walked straight into a familiar someone.
"Jesus Willy boy, we need to stop meeting like this-" you laughed, regaining your balance. You heard a smol boy cracking up, and looked down to see Alex.
"Willy boy!!!! HA!!!" Alex laughed, William just facepalming and shook his head. You grinned.
"Wait.... is THAT why you didn't want Alex to come here???" You laughed, William just huffed, so done with life right now. You grinned.
"Anyways. Hello again Alex!!! How've you been??" You ask, kneeling down to give Alex a one-armed gimp hug, since your shoulder still hurt. Alex shrugs a bit, and smiles up at you.
"I'm fine. Is your shoulder getting better?" He asks, seeming worried, almost. Protective of you. Hah. That's funny, this kid seems like the kind put person to want to protect everyone else, yet he's so smol and precious and everyone needs to protect HIM at all costs. You smile, ruffling his hair happily before standing up straight again.
"Slowly but surely. I'll be better again in no time, don't you even worry about it." You stated happily. William glances down the hall from which you came.
".... so... how did training go?" He asks. You shrugged nonchalantly in response, smiling as you did.
"Pretty good! Jim's probably gonna make me do it again though, so that's... fun." You say with a smile. William nods in response.
"Good. And how's 'Harvey'?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. Alex turns to William, seeming confused.
"Harvey?" He asked. William ruffled his hair, shaking his head.
".. different Harvey." He stated. You looked at them both curiously.
"You know a Harvey?" You ask, tilting your head slightly. Alex grins.
"It's our last name. William hates it so he never talks about it." He said with a smol boy giggle as William gave him a playful shove. You chuckle.
"Ah. I see. Well, he's an old man, he could practically be your dad." You stated. William chuckled softly, halfheartedly.
"... heh. Right." He stated. You pursed your lips. ... ah. Too soon. .... definitely no more dad jokes for these boys. Alex didn't seem too affected, probably because he never knew his dad.
"So what's he like?" Alex asked, looking up at you with a smile. You grinned down at him.
"A wise old man. He's my karate sensei~" you teased, Alex snorts, as if he couldn't see you doing karate. ... which. Was a bit of a funny vision in all honesty, hah. William stayed quiet as you and Alex joked, probably lost in his own little world of Vietnam flashbacks. Poor guy.. maybe you should ask him more about his dad, see why he left in the first place... maybe it'd help to talk. ... besides. It's good for Alex to at least be able to visualize what his dad would have been like.
