A while had passed, and you carefully lifted Alex up and carried him to your room. He was still sobbing but now he was losing his voice and wearing out, so he'd need to try to sleep...

you carefully set him down in your bed, petting his hair back with your fingers.

"Get some rest, Alex... I love you, sweetheart..." you whispered, pulling the blankets up for him. He sniffled and turned over, trembling softly as he cried. You wanted to stay with him, but... you had some things to resolve first.

You stepped out of the room, coming face to face with jim who seemed to be waiting for you.

"Y/n I-" you held one finger in front of his face, forcing him to stop talking. Then you led him away from your room so Alex could sleep.

"James. You know why I interfered, right." You stated, looking at him. He blinked a few times, looking back at you, raising an eyebrow slowly. Then he shook his head. You sighed, looking down at the floor as you walked.

"James. Alex has never killed anyone in his life. He's hurt a few people when he wasn't in his right mind, and that absolutely devastated him. Alex's other side is something dangerous, something unpredictable. If we feed his other side ammunition... if we take away the innocence he has by making him hurt others.. he'll turn into an exact replica of Harvey. We don't want any more Harvey's, right?" You stated, looking up at jim. Jim thought a moment, then slowly nodded.

".... alright. That's fair enough. Still, you could have gotten us both killed if William wasn't there-" Jim replied. You shook your head in response.

"... if worse came to worst, Alex could have brought us back. You forget he can do that... either way. There's always options, jim. I know you knew what could have happened to Alex if he killed Harvey, you don't have to pretend you didn't. You're just... accustomed to seeing killing as a normal thing now. This is your lifestyle... I hate it. A lot... but it's what you do. .... but in the future, please don't inflict that lifestyle on others like you did to Harvey and William... and tried to do with Alex and I. Alright? Alex just lost his dad. And... maybe it was for the best, yes. But try to see it from his point of view... how would you feel if you woke up one day, realizing you had subconsciously killed someone you loved...?" You asked, immediately jim went slightly pale and nodded once again.

"... alright. .... yes. I understand. ..."

"... good. Thank you, jim. Now... we need to help William. He needs someone to be there for him right now... he just killed his dad to save you." You said softly. Jim nodded slowly, seeming to process the situation in a more.. humane light.

".... I didn't see where he went, but I know a place.." he replied.

"Jim said I might find you here..." you said in a quiet voice, hands in your pockets as you stood quietly in the tall, damp grass. It was dark outside, you could see the shadowy figure sitting silently under a tree ahead of you. The smooth and stars gently illuminated the sky, giving off a calm, quiet ambience

"How have you been...? Alex misses you..." you stated, taking a step forward. Still silence. You kept trying your best to strike up a conversation..

"I'm so sorry about Harvey... I really am. I wish there was something I could do to help." You drew your eyebrows together empathetically as the figure stood up, silently approaching you. Finally...

In the dull moonlight, you could see long, brunette hair framing the figure's face.

".... Jason. My husbands first name was Jason."
