You woke up to jim pacing around his office, still awake, still on his phone. He immediately regained his composure at seeing you awaken, however.

"Good morning my dear, sleep well~?"

"... did you sleep at ALL, James?" You asked with a small frown. Jim shrugged and smiled calmly, as always.

"No, don't need it. More important things to worry about. Anyways, William told me that both Harvey and Alex seem to be getting really close and protective of each other. Basically... we need to break them up, ASAP. .... but first, I made you some tea." Jim smiled, nodding at his desk. You glanced over at it and felt yourself smile slightly.

"James, you didn't have to..."

"Oh no, I insist. It's not nearly as good as Willy boy makes it, but he's not here so someone had to do it." He replied casually. You smiled, quietly sipping your tea.

"Thanks, James.." it was the small gestures like this that kept you content. Jim wasn't the type of guy to pour out his feelings and affections for you in huge romantic gestures or anything. But he simply reassured you every now and then that he wasn't completely dead inside towards you like he was to everyone else. ... hah. For now, that was enough.

After you finished your tea, you stood up and thought for a moment.

"James.. you do have a plan, right?" You asked, looking over at him. Jim nodded in response, then smiled.

"Never without, my dear~ now stay here. I have a call to make." Jim stated with a calm smile. You slowly nodded, watching as jim exited the room.

Jim's POV:

Jim picked up his phone, immediately calling Harvey's number. Harvey answered moments after, his voice low and menacing.

"Yes, Jimbo?" He asked, jim cringed at the god awful nickname.

"Harvey we need to talk. Why are you doing this, any of this. You don't genuinely think you can change everything because you have Alex on your side, do you?"

"Oh of course I can~ once I get Alex on board, we'll test out his limits. ... if he has any. I could be right all along~ he could be unstoppable."

"Harvey, I don't know what the hell you think you're doing. And what about William? Why are you forcing him to be there? Just let him go, Harvey."

"Is that fear I sense, jim~? Are you afraid your only friend will leave you for me~?? Are you afraid of being alone???"

"Shut up, Harvey." Jim warned, darkly. He could practically feel Harvey smiling on the other side of the phone.

"... let's meet up. Just you and I and William. Talk it all out. See what he wants to do~." Harvey stated, before simply hanging up. Jim breathed out in response, running a hand through his hair before going back into his office to see you.

"...... alright, get up. Someone wants to see us." Jim said upon entering; noticing your glance of clear concern directed at him. Jim huffed, taking your hand and pulling you up out of the chair. (Minding your hurt arm, of course)

"Y/n, calm down. Everything is completely under control." Jim smiled, noticing your clear disbelief of him. Still, you nodded and followed him out of the room anyways.

Harvey's POV:

Harvey waited in silence for Jim's arrival. William shifted his weight behind him, silent as well. Eventually, Harvey smiled at hearing jim approaching.

"Standing ominously under an abandoned bridge. Tacky." Jim commented to announce his arrival. Harvey smiled darkly, raising an eyebrow. no sign of y/n anywhere

"Hello jimbo. Knew we'd meet again soon."

"Yes, you are the one who arranged the meeting."

"And you're the one who showed up." Harvey responded with ease, taking a step forward. Jim raised an eyebrow calmly, showing no sign of backing down. Harvey didn't need to see it though. He could hear it in his voice. Jim was afraid. He was afraid of losing William.

"I see you brought William with you." Jim stated, shooting a look at William who was staring quietly at the ground. Harvey knew William did not want to be here, especially not considering Harvey's outburst from before.

"I wanted him to see you for who you really are." Harvey said.

"Which is~?"

"A liar."

"Hah." Jim responded, crossing his arms confidently, his smile never wavering. "You here to make a few threats, then? Try to scare me off? Try to convince him you're somehow better than me?" Jim added coolly, Harvey noted Jim was working harder now more than ever to remain calm and collected. Harvey couldn't read him as easily as he usually could. Which, to Jim's disadvantage, hinted Harvey that jim had something to hide now more than ever. Jim was terrified.

"I don't need to do anything, do I? He knows deep down that you and I are very much alike. He knows I used to drink; he knows you kidnaped him and tortured him to try to create him into a heartless monster like yourself. He knows you have done the unimaginable to keep your reputation. Even if it means completely changing your personality for months, even years to prove something. He knows how manipulative you are, how heartless you have become. And he knows that I'm the same as you. ...... however, one thing sets us apart, jim." Harvey stated, hands in pockets as he simply approached Jim, mimicking his calm smile and mannerism.

"And what, my dear, is that~?" Jim asked, although he was not smiling anymore. Harvey, being taller than jim, smiled down at him menacingly.

".... I don't have to manipulate others into believing I'm not completely bad." Harvey whispered, at that jim retreated a few steps backwards. Harvey smiled, knowing he had jim AND William right then and there. He simply turned and walked back over to William.

"Catch you later, jim~ William and I have business to attend to." Harvey called behind him; William was extremely silent still, however he followed Harvey as he left..... without glancing back at jim, or even bothering to hesitate or think about doing so.
