Jim's POV:

Jim convinced William to go make some tea, and as soon as he was alone he breathed out in relief, immediately pulling out his phone.

'You, my dear, have played the game well~ however, I did not kill anyone, nor have I died. You've lost.' Jim texted the unknown number, staring blankly at the screen as the man responded.

'However, none of them trust you and are ready to turn on you in an instant if you make one false move. Is that not winning enough~.'

'So does this mean you'll leave us alone~~?' Jim replied with a smug smile, although he obviously already knew what the response would be.

'Oh no no no no. We're just getting started~.'

Jim set his phone down and leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes. He couldn't tell anyone that it wasn't him- it was too risky. Besides, who would believe him? The only thing he could do was go along with it. Whoever this was set it up just right. Jim looked like the bad guy- intentional or not, everyone seemed pretty convinced it was him. Now jim was stuck in probation... leaving him unable to communicate with the rest of his workers, try to regain the building's defences, or take any safety precautions to protect himself nor the rest of them. Everything would be seen as suspicious, and William and you would immediately be on him for it. You could think he was contacting his workers to set up another attack, planning to shift the blame off him (which it obviously wasn't him but, well, no one else seemed to know that), or anything else. It was a risk jim couldn't afford to take, not after you thought he tried to make you kill Alex or William.

It worried jim a bit that someone had put him in such a defenceless position, however jim was also allowing himself to be here. On the bright side, Alex was his secret weapon. He had Alex, and this other person hopefully didn't know about his powers. Although he likely did, considering he probably saw you stab yourself and almost die. Both sides must know about Alex's powers, but luckily jim was the only one who had access to them, if needed. Besides, maybe the kid could do a lot more than he had figured out yet.

This man had the upper hand, but Jim had the wildcard. He wasn't going to worry too too much... besides. It was an interesting adventure- jim didn't necessarily enjoy being on the receiving side of all these tests and games, however he would take as long as he needed to ensure you would all come out unscathed. That was the most important part. .... although jim would never admit it of course, hah.

William came back, giving jim a cup of tea. Jim smiled, relaxing once more at remembering he had the most brilliant group of worke—- ... friends, to help him out. With you, William, Alex, Harvey, and himself on his side, what could go wrong?

Alex's POV:

Everything was going wrong.

Alex was internally having an absolute meltdown. You had left to go to your room, and Alex had gotten a text almost as soon as you had gone.

'It isn't jim~' the text was from an unknown number, and Alex was practically hyperventilating. If it wasn't jim... if it really wasn't jim... it could be anyone. It could even be William. Alex knew William wasn't innocent, he's killed many people who did absolutely nothing wrong. So has jim. So has Harvey. And as for you... Alex had no idea. He didn't know if jim had corrupted you enough to that point yet, but one thing he did know for sure- you had no problem with violence. You were in love with a psychopath, and tried to kill yourself.

Alex was surrounded by psychopaths.

He covered his face with his hands, curling up against the wall as he went into complete internal panic mode. He couldn't tell anyone about this. He couldn't trust anyone anymore. It could be anyone. Heck, it could be EVERYONE. They could all have known all along that Alex could heal others, so now they were all planning this entire thing to freak him out enough to show him who's boss, forcing him to be practically enslaved the rest of his life. Anything and everything bad could happen.

And Alex, the poor small, ten year old boy, was left to deal with it all on his own.

... along with the ever-growing other side of him, who feasted off of his stress, ready to burst out at any moment.
