You sought out Alex, who was silently curled up, reading a book.

"Hey kiddo, how you doing-?" You asked, sitting on the floor by him. He smiled happily up at you, closing the book so he could talk to you without distraction. Good... he must enjoy talking with you. When you first met him, he was very quiet and kept to himself. It was good, he seemed to be in a lot better of a place now than he was before. Besides, William said that Alex's 'other side' had been appearing more than ever. You hadn't seen it at all since he got here, so he'd definitely made some progress.

"I'm doing well. It is a bit lonely here, though.." he shrugged, and you nodded empathetically.

"Yes, I understand.... don't worry, though. Once all this blows over, you'll be able to go home and see all your friends.. just for now you have to be here, or else you'd be risking your safety..."

"No, no, I totally get it. Don't worry." Alex smiled up at you, and you swallowed. This poor boy was way too mature for a ten year old... poor kid. Before he came here, he practically had to take care of himself. William was at work, and there wasn't anyone else to take care of him... he never had the chance to be a kid.. you felt so bad for the boy.

".... Alex, how likely do you think it is that jim has a split personality disorder—?" You ask, looking at the small boy curiously. You didn't want to come to any final decisions of course, but you wanted another opinion on the matter. Alex seemed to understand jim more than William did... William was afraid of jim. ... then again, he'd spent the most time with jim. Maybe William was right to be afraid.. but you didn't care. You wanted to believe that you and Alex were right, there's a lot more to jim than the singer layer of hatred and anger he portrays all the time.

"I think it's pretty likely... he has a lot of the symptoms that I did, so it would make sense.. but we haven't seen anything for sure still.." Alex replied. You thought a moment, looking down.

".... Alex, I've noticed you've been doing really well since you got here. You haven't had one incident at all. ... but when your 'other side' wanted to come out, could you control it?"

"Hard to say, it often took hold of me when I was tired or sleeping. But if William pointed out to me I was showing signs that I was about to change, I could somewhat hold it back.."

".... and do you think your 'other side' could become dormant, if wanted?"

".... you're worried we can't outwait Jim's 'other side' if he has one, and we'll be stuck watching him forever but never proving anything?" Alex replied. You slowly nodded.

"Yeah, i guess..."

"Me too... I don't know. My other side hasn't shown up, but that's because I've gotten stronger. I'm less tired, less weak. I don't know what it would be like for jim... if anything he seems more stressed and worn down than ever before. Which means his other side, if there is one, can only stay locked up for so long." Alex stated, looking up at you. You nodded and sighed. So... if jim does have an other side like Alex, it won't be too long until you wait it out... hopefully. You hated sitting still, doing nothing. And the absence of the sound of your phone going off in your pocket was more unnerving than anything.
