Your palms sweated nervously as you fixed your hair. You weren't bothered about how you looked, but in the same way you were. You had jeans and a sweatshirt on, and you had literally just brushed your hair, but nonetheless you were nervous, and felt the need to brush it again. You had given Peter your number, and he had given you his, and now you were just waiting for him to get back from his internship so he could FaceTime.

You started cracking your knuckles, swaying from side to side in your chair. You had your phone propped against the wall underneath the desk, wanting to take a nice photo for your lock screen. You knew Peter would want one too, and it'd be a cute thing you could look back on. You'd only just realised you didn't know what Peter looked like, or even what his voice sounded like. This experience was so new and odd, it made you want to jump out the flat window from nerves, while clutching your phone so you could still talk to him.

The screen turned to show a reflection of your face, so you could see your e/c eyes staring back at you.

"Peter🐸😤🖕 wants to FaceTime"
[Accept] [Deny]

Peter had set his own emojis, instructing you on what to put. You, at the time, were crying with laughter, but now your excitement caused you to hastily punch the screen to accept, sending your phone flying down a crack in your desk

"H-hey, Y/n" His voice said. You froze, his voice sounding so pure and precious.

"Dude, I just punched my phone to accept and lost it down the side of my desk" You informed Peter, as he laughed loudly.

"Why is that such a Y/n thing?" He said

"I don't know, Peter, whys the sky blue?"

"The light from the Sun shines into the atmosphere, so most of the colors are able to reach the Earth's surface uninterrupted. However, because blue light has a wavelength that is the same size as the particulates in the air, this light is scattered in every direction. Causing the sky to be blue" Peter blurts out, as you manage to find your phone, being able to see him for the first time.

He had brown curly hair and chocolate brown eyes, and was wearing a geeky science top with a hoodie over it. He also seemed to scan you as you did to him.

"Hey"

"Hi" He smiled back at you.

"How long have you waited for someone to ask you that nerdy question?" You teased, and he rolled his eyes at you, smiling slightly

"Like, at least four years"

"Peter, you are the nerd" You laughed

"I know"

You and Peter spoke for an hour, until you told him you had to leave for work. He was upset that you had to go, but he figured that he should probably go back to the stark internship, as he took a break.

You'd changed into your work clothes before setting out the door. You'd noticed that your dad wasn't back, so you locked the door.

"Y/n! Foods waiting!" Your manager yelled, and you ran to collect the plates. You took the metal in your hand, picking them up and balancing them before walking to the fancy dining area. It was a wonder how such a middle class kid could get a job here. The waiters were snobby and disapproving of a 15 year old girl working at such a posh place.

The only person your age working there was Jake. Jake was a brown haired boy, no taller than you. He had a perfect smile, which meant he was always bragging to you about how many girls had asked him out. He'd always say no, which meant he would laugh about it to you. Jake was 16, but acted 5. You had to be polite to him, in fear that his dad (your boss)would fire you. Originally, Jake was your best friend. However, hormones got involved and turned him into an enormous prick.  One day he just changed, breaking up with his girlfriend and not hanging out with you in school.
