"Honestly, Ned. I've learnt more from a potato! I've had two lessons with him, and yet, he refuses to teach us anything! I know more about his Ex-girlfriend Olivia who is living in Canada with her obese boyfriend, who is infertile by the way, than I do about Electrolysis!" You ranted as you walked into the canteen. You had had your second Chemistry lesson of the week, which has pissed you off beyond belief
"Tell the Principal! He shouldn't be able to get away with it!" Ned said, trying to spur you on to report him
"I can't-I already caused way too much trouble moving here halfway through the school year, they'd kill me if I complained." You sighed, taking a bite of the schools rubbery pizza you had been gifted. Still, it was better than the slop you were fed at your old school. Peter sat down beside you, with a Pizza and some salad on his plate.
"What's going on?" He asked, looking at you.
"Y/n's annoyed because her teacher's shit" Ned bluntly said, and you nodded in approval.
"It's not just that; it's the fact he doesn't teach what he should be" You sighed, taking out your chemistry book and trying to pour over the little notes you were making, hoping to make some sense of it. Peter saw this and sighed.
"It's Mr Adams, isn't it? He's no good, how about you come round mine and I tutor you? Chemistry's my strong subject anyway" He said, warmly smiling at you. As guilty as you felt, the opportunity to do well was overwhelming, and you nodded your head enthusiastically.
"Sounds like a plan. Thanks, Pete" You graciously said, trying not to burst out laughing at the fact you may have accidentally quoted Fall Out Boy.
"No problem" He said, before shifting his focus to Ned, who was on his phone, absorbed in a game. You began a group conversation about the events that had taken place, as the rumours circulated the school. Most of them involved Peter in some way, which you were shocked about, obviously Peter was the kind of guy to steer clear from any type of drama whatsoever.
Apparently, a Senior called Liz had moved to Oregon, where she would stay for the foreseeable future. Her dad had been Named as The Vulture, the criminal who was attacking the city as well as Spiderman. The gossip circulating consisted of many things; mainly hers and Peter's relationship. Many people said they saw her crying, making them think Peter had dumped her, but people who saw the whole event were telling you that she broke it off with him, leaving him a mess in the corridor, attracting attention.
You chose to listen to the second rumour, purely because Peter hadn't seemed right. At first you had blamed it on your terrible perception, but the more you hung out with him, the more you realised that the bubbly boy you had been talking to on Tumblr had disappeared, leaving a boy who was apologetic for his every move, making the smallest comments here and there.
You decided to approach Ned about it, because obviously, Ned is the person who knows Peter the best. Although the previous statement may have been true, you just knew that Ned couldn't keep a secret to save his life."Ned? Is Peter ok?" You asked timidly, not wanting to sound overprotective or clingy
"I don't know, dude. It's this whole Liz thing, he's pretty down about it. He'll get over it soon, I'm sure" Ned tried to reassure you, placing an awkward hand on your back, patting it.
"Yeah, I heard about them breaking up, what happened?" You probed, hoping you didn't come off as nosey.
"They were barely going out, to be honest. Her dad got sent away, so she moved to Oregon and broke up with Peter, mainly because he ditched her on two separate occasions. He's still choked up about it, so I wouldn't bring it up" Ned said, and you nodded in understanding.
"He's Peter, he'll be fine in a month or four" You said, and Ned nodded.
You decided to skip on muffins today, instead buying a Fanta Orange from the shop. Mr Penney was delighted to see you nonetheless, calling you his "favourite customer" and offering you every type of candy he had.
"Are you trying to fatten me up, Mr Penney?" You joked, and he laughed hysterically.
"You do make me giggle, dear." He responded, and you laughed again. He was such a kindly old man.
You had walked home trying Peter to see what time was best for him so you could study. He said he'd be round your house in 30 minutes, so you decided to grab the snack bowls and fill them high.
Your dad was still out job hunting, which filled you with unease. A big worry loomed over your head when it struck an hour and a half since Peter sent his text. You decided to go to him, which may be rude, but you didn't know where the hell he was, so turning up to his house seemed the most fitting.
You decided to text him one last time, telling him you would be over at his house soon, and he better have a damn good reason for being a whole hour late. You grabbed your chemistry book and from your desk, which had a picture frame of you and Peter first meeting on it, and left a note explaining your whereabouts to your dad, before locking the door and setting off for the subway. You arrived at Peter's apartment, knocking on the door quickly. May opened the door, surprised to see you there.
"Hey, May. Is Peter there? We were supposed to study at my house an hour ago, but he didn't reply" You explained, and she nodded.
"He's not at home yet, but he should be home soon, I'll make sure of it." May said politely, and you gave your thanks to the lovely brunette. She pushed her glasses up as she invited you in, making sure you were hydrated and had plenty to eat. You were sat on Peter's bed, trying to revise a slight amount. It was all to difficult without Peter, which caused you to be more angry at him, combined with the slight worry you felt in your gut.
Peter Parker was being thrashed around. He was about to finish his rounds when a trap sprung and caught him off guard, making him release a squeal of shock. Admittedly, a manlier noise would've suited Spiderman better.
The man had his face covered extremely well, and had no traceable features except from a scar and heavily tattooed arm. The net had snapped him up, and the man had grabbed the netting and slammed the 15 year old into the wall. Peter got a concussion from head butting the ceiling of the high tech van, but when he slammed into this wall he felt nothing but adrenaline. He struggled out of the net, leaping onto a wall nearby.
The man countered this by shooting an arrow straight into Spider-Man's leg. Peter focused on fighting this new villain, and not on the gaping hole in his left leg. Peter tried to land a roundhouse kick to the face, but was grabbed by the foot and slammed into the concrete. He groaned, hoping to escape with his limbs attached. He tried to get back up, but a boot pressed on his back, making him keel over. Before he knew it, the man had thrown another net over him, and thrown him into an unknown location.
"Karen? Where-where am I?" He asked, trying to to let his voice break in the musty place.
"My sensors are damaged, but you are below a complex. Do you want me to call Mr Stark?" Karen asked, but Peter thougt for a moment, before the pain in his leg became severe.
"What the hell did he do to my leg?!" Peter asked, his voice high pitched.
"He shot it with a bow and arrow and was extremely successful" Karen, master of the obvious, said.
"Thanks, Karen" Peter sarcastically said.
"No problem, Peter" She replied, and Peter cursed Tony for making such a smart piece of self aware tech.
