You had, of course, under-slept. It was 6am when you woke up, being disturbed multiple times in the night by the demon that is Jet Lag. It still felt quite late in the day for you, but you couldn't get back to sleep no matter how hard you tried. The pain of getting up and taking a shower seemed to loom over you, but the fear of meeting someone new stirred you on, making you take a brisk shower.

You decided to stop by a local bakery that you had seen on the way to the park, which was almost the same way to the train. You got changed quickly and wrote a note to your dad telling him where you would be for the day. You tuned your keys in the front door, making sure it was locked and secure, before walking to the lobby of the building.

The morning air hit your face along with the rays of the sun, and you set off to the bakery.

"Hey, we've got a new face!" An elderly man smiled from behind the counted, and you smiled back

"Hello! Can I have..." You scanned the options, before setting your eyes on some freshly baked muffins "4 muffins please"

The man nodded, shovelling the muffins into a small brown bag and placing them on the counter for you to take.

"Have you come for your holidays?" The man asked, and you shook your head.

"Just moved here from London, actually." You clarified.

"Much warmer here, eh?" The man chuckled.

"Yeah, it's a lot better."

"$2.20 please" He smiled, but you stared back at the screen. It clearly read double the amount, and felt guilty of you only gave him the number he asked for.

"It says $4.40, sir" You politely told him, but he shook his head

"Half off for any newcomer...I didn't catch your name?" He said as you handed over the amount of money he insisted you pay.

"Y/n. And I'll be coming back, for sure. I'm going to school just across the road tomorrow, so I'll come in after school" You promised, before saying your goodbyes and leaving.

You exited the small shop, continuing your walk to the train station. You had passed many weird people, but nothing compared to Spiderman, who you had seen swinging across the street a few times. It still felt so odd to have a man in spandex, who probably worked a nine-to-five job, swinging around the place. It was odd and strange, but pretty cool at the same time. The sun was being blocked out by the big building covering it, meaning you no longer had to wear sunglasses. You balanced them on your head, making sure before you got to the station that you had the right amount of money for a ticket, as well as a return ticket.

It was the first time you'd gone on an American train, and Peter had insisted he come and get you, just in case you "did a Y/n" and got lost.

It was like Peter knew you too well, as you almost took the wrong turn to the station, even though you had Google maps interrupting your music every 30 seconds.

Once you got to the station, you sat on a bench, making sure to keep an eye out for Peter. He finally turned round the corner, which made you question why he hadn't walked out the station, as he lived a train away from this stop. But there he was, strolling towards you, before bending down to sort his shoe out.

You hugged him as he walked towards you, and he hugged back. It was a weird thing about having a best ex-Internet friend, because you just wanted to feel close to him always, as if he was about to disappear through your phone screen again.

Peter, although you didn't know it, felt the same way. He always wanted to be near you, because he enjoyed your company outside texting.

"Hey" He said, his smile wide as you grinned back
