You were pacing around your biology room after hours as Ned and Peter watched you. You had recounted the events of last night in your head so many times, but none made sense. Why was a friend of your dad after you? You had reached the eye of the shitstorm of dramas that'd should be spread evenly around in your life, but here you were-age 15 and receiving death threats via paper bag.
'T.S' was also on the top of your brain. You had gone through the small red address book that your dad kept, and the only initial under 'T.S' was Tesco Services-a supermarket from England who's clothes were not as high a quality as the outfit you had been given. You didn't show the boys the second bag, but decided to show them the note left with the first, which you were carrying everywhere.
"-The Golden Circle waits? What does that mean?" Ned asked, trying to analyse the wording.
"It means they're waiting for me to be killed or captured. I thought I escaped!" You muttered the last sentence under your breath as you focused on the textbooks provided by the teacher. You had asked to stay late for an assignment that you were doing out of school: a fitting excuse for the three of you to be staying late.
You had chosen the furthest desks from the front to ensure the teacher couldn't hear what was being discussed. Although; it didn't seem like he cared as he drifted away into a slumber
You found the page, letting out a happy gasp. The page told you what the key characteristics in blood cells were, and how to identify them."Pass the paper, Ned" You said, extending an arm so he could give it to you. He handed over the paper, watching you put it under the microscope and examine it. The boys stared at you, glancing at each other occasionally.
"Yep, that's blood." You confirmed, watching as Ned sprinted to the sink and washed his hands vigorously.
"Gross." Peter muttered, and you nodded. As you looked away from the parchment to look up at Peter, your hands slipped from the tight grip you had previously had the paper in. The paper ever-so-slightly slipped, revealing small inscribed words. You looked back into the microscope, hoping to see more blood cells to confirm that it was in fact blood.
"Holy Shit! There are small words on this, guys!" You exclaimed, watching as the boys crowded round, eager to look. Peter looked first, squinting as he did. It was a cute habit he had, which you found particularly adorable. Then Ned practically moved Peter out the way, gasping when he saw the minuscule words.
"It's in a different language, Y/n" Ned said, and you jokingly rolled your eyes.
"It's in Russian. I might be able to translate it in a minute..." You trailed off, trying to retain focus on the etched writing. Once again, the shock filled your body, making you sick that you kept this small item in your pocket the whole day.
"Y/n? What does it say?" Peter asks, taking one step towards you
"'Ink from Man of Spiders scribes his loved ones fate' Peter, this is your blood!" You cried out, shocked and nauseous. Peter looked shocked as well, taking a small step back from you.
"Does that mean-" Ned started
"They know who Peter is" You grimly confirmed, grabbing your books and rushing to put them back as the boys tidied up.
All three of you rushed out of school to the local electronics store-the plan was to buy the cheapest com-sets and use them to talk to Peter.
"They can hack into those-pick these ones; they're scrambled enough so it'll take them more time to decode it" You said, picking up the slightly more expensive ones before paying. Peter tried to protest but you insisted-going even and halving the costs with Ned.
"Ok-me and Ned will be at Ned's house-maybe on the roof if it has WiFi. We still have the Summer Formal, so don't be too late, Spiderboy!" You reminded him as he dove off into an alleyway to get changed. You saw a little too much of his chiselled abs, but shrugged it off as you sped up to Ned. You had texted his dad to tell him that you were going to "get your makeup done". Sure, you felt bad lying, but this was life and death, so morals weren't taken into consideration.
"Ok, Spider-can you hear us?" You asked as you fixed the com-set into your ear, ignoring the slight beep it was blaring. You could hear the static breaking before a voice came through.
"Y-yeah I can hear you! This is just like 'Spy-Kids'!" Peter giggled, causing you to smile.
"I've never seen it" You proclaimed, causing two voices to gasp.
"Shadow delta, how have you not seen Spy Kids?" Ned said, and you snorted.
"'Shadow Delta? Am I a power ranger now?" You joked.
"I figured we need nicknames! So I'm baby eagle-"
"Baby Eagle?!"
"It sounds cool!" He protested
"It sounds like you're begging for flash to give you a wedgie!" You joked, seeing him lightly punch your shoulder.
"Guys, this is fun and all but I might need a second opinion on this!" Peter said.
"Get Karen to stream what you're seeing into Ned's laptop" You said, and Ned's screen went fuzzy. All of a sudden you were seeing in Peters perspective, watching him go through an abandoned building. You confirmed that you could see him.
"Peter, there's no one in there-get out of there!" Ned said, before you backed him up.
"Ned's right, there's no point sticking around if the Golden Circle are going to show up-they're going to be better in in closed areas" You informed him.
"You seem to know a lot about this group, Y/n" Peter said, and your blood ran cold.
"Don't, Parker" You coldly said, making the atmosphere drop as Ned coughed loudly next to you. A few minutes had passed, and Peter was now fighting a robber, and returning a purse to a lady. The lady thanked him, before walking off. Something didn't seem right, so you got up Ned's spare laptop.
"Ned can you hack into the CCTV for me?" You asked, and Ned nodded, reaching over and quickly typing in a code, so you had access to the CCTV systems of New York; more importantly Queens. You got to the place where the lady had been, replaying the footage and looking at her closely. As soon as she thanked Spiderman, her persona switched, and she muttered into a phone. The man who had stolen the purse was webbed up, but through the webbing you could see the two fingered tap he gave on his thigh three times. As he did this the homeless man beside him stood up, walking over to Peter and asking for directions. Spiderman told him where to go, and the man patted him on the back, leaving a tracker.
"Peter-around 30 seconds ago a tracker was on your left shoulder-take it off and crush it-then run in an opposite direction." You ordered the superhero, switching to live-time as he followed your words and swung off as you followed on the cameras.
Peter had seemingly avoided all mercenaries-until the exact time that the fist attack happened. The CCTV couldn't pick it up, but an arrow fired and seemingly missed the hero, until it blew up. Luckily the building wasn't damaged too much, as it was obviously a warning shot. At that moment it was crystal clear that they were definitely aiming for the kill this time.
"Peter! Don't attack, just defend." You said, and Ned looked across at you, the terror on both of your faces painting that you were in a very real situation.
"Ok!" Peter responded, dodging and evading the large mans capture. It was only then that you had seen his attire-tribal wear and barefoot with a large bow and arrow attacked to his back, with a sword currently being wielded. Peter was taking a beating, and you knew this guy was only toying with him before he would kill Peter in a number of ways he could choose from if he pleased. You sighed, before standing up.
"Ned, you're the guy in the chair. I've gotta go" You hurriedly said, before rushing down the fire escape and sprinting down to Peters location.
