"I am going to put this tablet on your tongue Ruby, as soon as it touches your tongue you will be out" Amore said. Amore explained "This little green tablet is an actual wartime narcotic". "Sometimes I think the contestants come for that tablet but they have to fight for it first" Amore giggled.

Amore went on "When it kicks in, it speeds up recovery time about fifty times, is not addictive and boosts green magic healing a thousand fold, the best place to learn how to heal injuries is on the battlefield so to say". "So while you are knocked out I am going to fix you up with green magic".

Amore opened Ruby's mouth and put the tablet on Ruby's tongue. The green pill kicked in. The real world was gone.

"It heals emotional wounds as well" May said behind her. Ruby turned her head, May walked in her stilettos and a lovely pencil skirt around the small wooden table. Ruby looked at LD50 running in his wheel. LD50 stopped running and danced for Ruby. Ruby gave LD50 a slice of mushroom, LD50 sat there munching the mushroom watching Ruby.

Ruby looked down at the bowl of sliced mushrooms in front of her, her tears ran slowly, a teardrop formed on the tip of her nose. May put her fingertip under Ruby's nose and let the teardrop drop onto her fingertip. May put her fingertip onto her own tongue and tasted the salty tear. May said slowly "I miss your taste, your smell, your face, your smile and most of all I miss you".

Ruby looked up. May was sitting opposite her at the small wooden table, she wore a plain white shirt with an embroidered jacket. Her beautiful green eyes looked into Ruby's eyes.

"Can we make love" Ruby asked.

"Not here Ruby" May said, "It doesn't work like that here but we can spend time here together, not much time but enough time"

"Where are we" Ruby asked.

"Inside AEON. It's too difficult to explain, I would rather be together with you than waste time trying to explain, we each have our own soul trajectory" May said.

May moved her hands over to Ruby's hands. The white bandages were on Ruby's wrists again. "When things are dark it isn't good to look into the darkness, it is much better to look through the darkness". Ruby gently held May's hands. "Are you going to forgive Argon" May asked

LD50 was running in his wheel again. "I don't know" Ruby said.

May leaned over and kissed Ruby. May drew her head back, they were in Max's club. Shirley was singing again.

They danced slowly while Shirley sang "The Rhythm Divine".

May moved her head forward and buried her head in the curve of Ruby's neck, May breathed in deeply. When May drew back her tears were flowing slowly over her cheeks.

In the deep shifting violet colors of the club with the soul filled voice of Shirley, Ruby put her fingertip on May's face and stole a tear. It tasted salty on her tongue. "That's my trick you silly" May said as she took Ruby's head with both hands. May burst into a torrent of tears and looked at Ruby, "I missed you so much" May cried. May hungrily kissed Ruby on the lips.

May swam to the side of the lagoon, stood up and walked through the water to the stone where the towel lay then dried herself. She was wearing the bikini with the green hearts on. "Doesn't seem fair" May said as she sat next to Ruby on the porch steps, "We can't kiss because it makes everything change but we are allowed to taste each other's tears"

Ruby snuggled into May. "I spent the happiest year of my life here" May said. "So did I" Ruby said.

May looked up at the sky, "I have to go soon baby", "Seems like we are both here for emotional healing". Ruby looked up at May and said, "If the time is short then there is only place to go to before I have to leave". Ruby kissed May tenderly.

They were in the entrance hall of Silkwood, standing handing in hand under the chandelier; the rainbows were running through the chandelier. Ruby's crystal dress shimmered and sang glorious color as she held onto May in her black dress and jacket. Shirley stepped up to the microphone, looked sideways at Boris and Dieter. Boris started the music and Dieter adjusted the lights. The music and light slid divinely through the hall. "Shall we dance" May asked. They slowly moved into each other's arms and started dancing.

"Why is it always this song" Ruby asked May. "It's our hello song" May said. "It's also our goodbye song" Ruby said. "We both have to fall in love again with other people" May said. "I know" Ruby said. "No more talk baby lets enjoy our goodbye song" May said.

They danced to the music and let the music carry them away. When the song finished they stopped, they looked at each other and both said "Goodbye beautiful", and gave each other their final goodbye kiss.

Ruby jerked her head up and said "That was fricking awesome". "They all say that" Amore said helping Ruby up. "What now" Ruby asked.

"Go drink beer Ruby, lots of beer, not the cheap stuff, real beer" Amore suggested, "I know you don't like booze but the beer will help your kidneys expel the toxins faster".

Ruby stood in front of the mirror checking herself out, no bruises, scratches or anything except for her black eye. Amore said "Your black eye will be gone by Sunday night, the skin is delicate there but the swelling is gone".

Ruby's t-shirt was gone and her denims filthy. Amore offered her a baggy t-shirt and hospital pants. Ruby wanted to refuse. "Look" Amore said "People come here to fight not to fu", "er look at pretty girls" Amore said, "besides they all look the same". Amore pointed to the other 3 girls in baggy T-shirts, hospital pants and dirty shoes.

"And remember next time to bring extra clothes girls" Amore said herding them out of the tent gently "You are looking for the big black tent where the boom-boom music is coming from, they sell proper beer there".

After the four of them guiltily sneaked into the club tent in the 'baggies' they ordered the first round of beer and slunk to the darkest corner of the tent. With the fourth round they were all dancing together on the makeshift dance floor. After round 8 they all puked at the back of the tent, they sat quietly around a table at six am eating fries at a food tent. They shuffled to the 'lost and found' tent where lots of people were sleeping on mattresses spread out on the floor. They all passed out and slept.

The 'Tanta-tarrah' bugle sound of the first battle woke the four girls at noon. The two cowboy girls said goodbye to Ruby and Roxanne, they had to go back to the herd. They hugged each other goodbye.

Ruby and Roxanne walked through the tents and stalls looking for new clothes and showers. There were more stalls selling weapons and books about fighting than there were clothing stalls. There were more clothing stores selling battle costumes than casual clothes. It took until 4 in the afternoon before Ruby and Roxanne emerged out of the shower tent in new denims and T-shirts. They went to look for 1 and Daddy and found them in the food tent.

The Saturday fights from 6pm until midnight were all bare handed boxing matches. All extremely vicious, they were all for ranking positions in the league; bare handed boxing was the most popular league. The title bout was going to be on the next weekend and that was a month away. After midnight Ruby and Roxanne had to leave to go back to civilization. Ruby and Roxanne each gave 1 and Daddy good solid joyous hugs before they went to the speedster.

As Ruby climbed into the speedster she touched her ears and said "Daddy has still got my earrings". "I know" Roxanne said, "and your Daddy will have an everlasting memento of this weekend, just as 1 will have a sweet memento from me, we used to be sweet on each other a very long time ago but that has been lost through the complications life throws at us". "You're actually a sweet person" Ruby said and pecked Roxanne on the cheek". "I know" Roxanne said as she put pedal to the metal.
