I woke up with a pounding headache and 2 new messages from different people.

"Hey, wanna get some breakfast? I wanted to talk to you." From David

"I've been giving you some space to get ready for me but I'm losing my patience Nat so I'ma come over tonight." From Ivan

Two very different people with different intentions. I don't know if to look forward to today or dread it. I unwillingly pulled back my covers immediately missing it's warmth. I padded over to my mirror and recoiled in disgust. My hair was sticking out in all directions, my eyes were puffy and red with bags, my lips were chapped and drained of color. I brushed my hair as best as I could into a low bun since a high bun wouldn't work with my short hair. I brushed my teeth and put on dark wash skinny jeans with a oversized hoodie even though it was summer.

My lower back felt worse, maybe it was from my strange sleeping position last night. I can't handle the pain so I drank an Ibuprofen. It hurt to simply sit down on the toilet or even bend over.

I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and decided it'd be best to wear sunglasses. I drove to the small diner address David sent me and parked right in front of the entrance since there were only a few cars here.

I walked inside and immediately spotted David's big body sitting in the far corner by himself facing the wall hunched over. I tap his shoulder and he looks up at me with an excited face.

I giggle to myself as I give him a quick hug immediately remembering the day we fucked and pulled away, sitting across from him.

"So have you ordered yet?" I start looking around the small diner. The walls were painted a light blue that has faded over time, the floor was tiled black and white, the booths were a bright red that has also faded with time. The diner smelled like eggs and vanilla, I'm still not sure if I like the combination.

"I only ordered coffee, you can have some if you want. I was waiting for you before ordering."

"That's sweet but you didn't have to wait." I call over the waitress and order pancakes with eggs.

"Are you gonna have anything?" I ask David before the waitress goes away

"Um, just some waffles please." The waitress writes it down before heading to the back.

"What did you wanna talk about?" I ask crossing my arms leaning back against the wall of the booth.

"Um, well you know Ivan right?" David looks so nervous and I'm not sure what he could be so nervous about.

"Well we are dating so yeah I know him." I chuckle

David laughs nervously licking his full lips before saying "Well, I just thought you should know he's not the typical player..."

I raise an eyebrow and David continues "I don't know if you heard, but he doesn't deal well with rejection and being dumped...He has bad anger issues and has gotten in trouble with the police before."

"He said he was gonna come over tonight..." I look at the ground past David, zoning out.

"Natassia I know I'm the last person you wanna listen to right now," He's actually the first "Just know where I'm coming from, I don't wanna see or hear something happened to you because of Ivan."

"I'll be fine David. Shouldn't you be with your little girlfriend anyway?"

"Selena? She wanted to sleep in so were hanging out later but that's not what I wanted to talk about..."

"I was a dick to just fuck you and pretend like nothing happened, I feel like shit about it. You deserve better and it's not me but it's sure as hell not Ivan either."
