I was waiting for a while for Greyson, which was kind of strange, especially considering he did not even have to change or shower. I assumed he was probably just talking to his friends or something, so I just brushed it off.
Soon enough, Greyson came out of the field house and walked over to me. He did not say anything and just hugged me, in a protective way. He had lifted me from my feet.
"You okay?" I whispered. He nodded, setting me down. I assumed he was just upset about not being able to play today. The game was a fun one to be at, and I was sure it would have been even more exciting to play in. "There is always next year to play, okay?"
"I know," he said. But I felt like something else was wrong. I could not tell what though.
"Is there anything else wrong?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Don't be worrying about me P, okay?" he explained.
"I know," I replied.
"It's my job to worry about you," he said back with a laugh. I smiled at him, shaking my head. He kissed the top of my head and we walked into the school. There was a party like last week, but I heard not a lot of people had gone because so many were at the hospital for Greyson. He had his hand in mine, and we walked into the cafeteria. It was all decorated with blue and gold streamers, along with all sorts of signs. Most players were there already, and I noticed Matt had his arm around Danielle.
It was gross to see, I knew sweet and beautiful Danielle could do so much better than Matt, but I could not say anything. Grey and I walked over to Erin and Sawyer.
The party was fun, and I was able to get my mind off of everything that had happened today. It had been pretty crazy, from Grey finding out about my secret, to Matt finding out, to getting asked to move up a grade. It was just crazy. After an hour or two, Meredith and I decided it was time for us to head out.
"P, you sure you do not need a ride?" Grey asked me.
"Yeah, thanks, but Meredith can take me," I replied.
"Until tomorrow, it's going to be awesome," Greyson said sweetly, putting his arms around my waist. I put my arms around his neck.
"Yes, it is," I replied. He kissed my cheek and I walked off with Meredith.
I was blushing, and I could Meredith noticed.
"You and Greyson literally make me happy. I swear, you two are perfect for each other," Meredith exclaimed. I laughed.
"How about you and Josh?" I asked.
"Pretty good, he asked me to homecoming earlier today," she said, hopping into the car. I sat in the passengers' seat as Meredith started the car.
"Yay! How did he do it?" I asked. She pulled out of the parking lot.
"It was really traditional. After the game, he pulled me underneath the bleachers and had a huge bouquet of red roses waiting for me. Then he said this really cute little thing about how much he liked me and stuff and asked me to homecoming," she explained.
"Aw, that's cute. Traditional is so cute," I replied. She nodded. I could tell she liked Josh, but I was not sure how long it was going to last. I got butterflies every time I talked to him, and he just made me so happy. Everything just felt perfect, so different from any stereotypical high school relationship. And then I felt it. I loved Greyson Kole.
