Chapter 86

Mila

It's 7 in the morning and somebody's banging the door like they're the cops. I crawl out of my bed and get up only to trip over Ariel.

She stayed the night with me cause my mom cooked. I open my door and head downstairs. "I GOT IT" I yell.

I open the door only for 3 cops to bust. "Is Ariel here?" The female asks.

"What?" I ask. I just got up and these bitches busting in here. My mind isn't fully aware of what's going on.

Ariel comes downstairs and one of the guy cops push her against the wall. "Ariel Warren, you're under arrest for Battery Assault against Christian Carter" He says. He reads her her rights as he handcuffs her and they escort her out.

I grab the house phone and dial Ariel's mom's number. "Who is calling me at 7 in the damn morning?" She asks.

"Mama, it's me, Ariel just got arrested" I say. The line goes quiet so I continue. "They said some about battery assault against Christian"

"Christian!" She yells. "Come over, I'm bout to wake Lonte up" She says.

We hang up and I go change. I throw on a white tee, Grey joggers, and my Grey and White 13's. I put my hair in a bun and brush my teeth.

I grab me and Ariel's stuff and knock on my parents door. These niggas really knocked out sleep.

"What's up?" My Dad asks opening the door rubbing his eyes.

"Ariel just got arrested, her mom wants us over at their place" I say.

"I shouldn't have taken that Benadryl earlier" He mumbles. "You go ahead, me and your mom will be on our way" He says.

"Okay" I say lowly.

"Don't worry, we'll figure it out" He says kissing my forehead. I grab my keys and head out.

I pull into the driveway and get out. I walk in and everything's everywhere. "I'm here" I say walking in the kitchen. I grab a bottle of apple juice and A.J walks in.

"Ma said go to my dad's office" He says lowly. "I'll show you where it's at" He adds. I sit my keys down and follow him. We go in the direction of the game room till we stop at a door. He opens it and I walk in.

"This is nice" I say to myself.

"Thanks" I hear pops says. I sit on the couch and I watch as him load a gun. Mama walks in and I can tell she's stressed.

"What's going on?" I ask.

"Zay's been acting sneaky for the past few weeks and now we know why" Mama says. "He was trying to pin Christian's beating on Ariel" She adds. "Will you and A.J watch the boys while we go run some errands?" She asks.

"Sure" I say getting up. I hug her and dap pops up before walking out.

Tamia

It's going on 2 and we're at my grandma's house. We're having a cookout and it's crowded. I got cousins running everywhere, Uncle and aunties gossiping, and my parents doing a lil bit of everything.

I keep calling Ariel but her shit keeps going to voicemail. I scroll through my phone until my older cousins run in and crowd around me. "What got y'all hype?" I ask.

"This yo girl right?" My cousin Langston asks showing me his phone. It's a post on Twitter with Ariel's picture.

"Yeah, why the fuck She trending?" I ask snatching his phone.

"Most of these tweets saying she got arrested for battery assault" My younger cousin Kennedy says.

"Against who?" I ask. They all shrug and I groan.

"This may not be the time but she looks fine as hell in this mugshot" My older cousin Halo says. I glare at her and walk out. I go to my rental and dial Mrs. Warren's Number.

"I was just about to call you, I was running errands" She says. "That bitch pinned the shit on Ariel"

"What happened?" I ask.

"Zay edited screenshots and found texts when Christian and Ariel were arguing and sent it to the police, we talked to our lawyer and this nigga saying it's a done deal" She says.

"What about Mr. Warren?" I ask running my hands through my hair.

"He tried taking the charge, admitted to it and everything, they aren't accepting it" She says. "If my child goes to jail cause of Zay's snitch ass, I swear I'm going back to my old ways" She adds.

"I'm bout to cancel everything and get my ticket for the next flight out" I say.

"You sure, I know you having a family reunion" She says. I roll my eyes.

"Ion fuck with none of my family like that except my grandma, I really only came for her and to do some more stuff for my clothing line and whatnot" I say truthfully. "But yeah, I'll be there tonight"

"Okay, be careful sweetie" She says.

We hang up and I immediately book my flight which is in 2 hours.

A'Lonte

"Nah bruh, it ain't no chill" I tell Antonio. "I owned up to the shit and they saying I can't take the charge, like when did that happen?" I rhetorically ask.

"You know we got a fucked up judicial system" Antwan says.

"I'm telling you, if Ariel goes to jail, it's war with every fucking body and I mean that shit" I say pacing around. "Her birthday is coming up, plus her and A.J can graduate this year, that shit doesn't just happen, they earned it, now it can all be jeopardized cause of this stupid ass nigga" I say.

"He gone get his, just chill" Antwan says handing me a bottle of water.

"I can't drink this right now" I say rejecting it. I can't do shit but pace cause I'm shaking so bad.

Lani walks in the kitchen on the phone. "I don't feel like talking, so quit asking me shit" She says. "I'm hanging up cause I'm really ready to beat yo ass at this very moment" She adds before throwing her phone.

"Who was that?" I ask.

"My brother" She mumbles. She grabs a bag of hot Cheetos and walks out.

"I swear murder is the only thing on my mind right now" I say trying to calm down.
