I haven't seen anyone since Daniel's burial. I locked my self up in my room the entire Sunday.

James is supposed to pick me up today.

And he's already running late.

Just then a honk went out.

I immediately head out only to see Greyson.

"Good morning! James' car broke down. He told me to come pick you up." Grey said from inside

"Morning." I said offering a small smile

"Why so glum, chum?" He asked, "never mind. Don't answer that." Grey said

"Guess what I brought you." He said, "Guessing. Guessing. And I give up. What is it?" I asked, "you suck." Grey said sticking his tongue out

"Dicks. Yeah." I said blatantly

And the car screeched to an abrupt stop.

My eyes widen

"Why the fuck would you do that?!" I yell

"Sorry." He said before we moved again.

"So, that bitch of a secretary got fired. And I have your card. It's in my bag, you can go grab it. Bert is part of the honour roll now." He filled me in,

I grab his back pack and I saw my card. I grab it and check my grades

AP Biology: 100
AP Calculus: 100
Gym: 100
AP literature: 99.83
AP History: 99.98
Arts: 99.62
Music: 100
AP Economics: 100

"Yasss!" I said, "they decided to put the actual grades. And not the round ones." He said

We arrive in school 5 minutes late,

Grey had double calculus with me, first thing in the morning.

We enter, the room and everyone snapped their attention to us.

Apparently something fucked up our classes. We got switched into regular classes instead of AP classes, the principal said it will fixed by the end of the week.

"Ah, Ms. Wilson and Mr. Sinclaire, I presume?" The teacher said,

"Yes, sir. Sorry we're late." I said rushing to the seat at the front and Grey sitting beside me.

"Ok, question number 1. Find parameter p so that y = 3x is a tangent line to the curve
y = x 2 + p. Answer anyone? How about you late comers, Ms. Wilson? And please do it step by step." The teacher asked

"The slope of the tangent is equal to 3. At the point of tangency y ' = 3.

y ' = 2 x = 3

Solve the equation 2 x = 3 to find the x coordinate of the point of tangency.

x = 3 / 2

The point of tangency is on the line y = 3 x, therefore the y coordinate of the point of tangency is equal to

y = 3 (3/2) = 9 / 2

The point of tangency (3 / 2 , 9 / 2) is on the curve
y = x 2 + p and is therefore used to find p as follows

9 / 2 = (3 / 2) 2 + p

Solve the above for p to obtain

p = 9 / 4" I replied mentally.
