5. Fight!

King Panitchayasawad POV

"King, I already bring you the persons that you asked me to look for." The Advisor bow to the King.

I see Suthee comes into the chamber with another three young guys before he makes his way to stand beside my throne. The three young guys immediately kneeling in front of me.

"So who is Phana Kongthanin?" I ask with a poker face. I want to see how they react.

"It is me, my King." Oh, my son is definitely right. He is handsome. But the important thing is, I don't detect any nervousness from him. Not like his other two friends, I can still feel theirs. 

"Raise you three." With that, they stand.

"My son, Prince Wayo already tell me what happen last night. He said that you are so strong. But I don't believe him. I want to see it with my own eyes." As on cue, Wayo, Forth, and Ming come into the royal hall. 

"What an excellent timing N'Forth." Forth looks at me expectantly. "I want you to duel with Phana to the death. And Phana, you must win. If not, I'm going to be headed your friends to accompany you in the afterlife." Not just those three guys are shocked, even Wayo, Forth, Ming, and Suthee are shocked.

"That's absurd, Dad. They save me last night. Why you want to punish them now?" Wayo tries to reason with me but I just dismiss him.

"Let us go to the training ground right now. Shall we?"

Phana POV

OMG! What is wrong with this king? Why suddenly he wants to be headed us? Shouldn't he reward us instead? 

"Guys, what should I do now? I can't possibly kill him?! I got no reason to do so" We are now in a holding room to get ready for the said duel.

"Just do your best Pha. We know you will not kill him, and we are okay with that." Beam says.

"Yeah. Furthermore, we are best friends, right? We will always stick together, even in the afterlife." Kit flash a comforting smile. "Now go. You like it or not, you have to do it."

At the training ground

Forth is already standing in the middle of the training ground, ready for the fight. while Phana just gets out from the holding room followed by his friends. while he is heading to the center of the training ground, his two friends headed to the spectator podium where the King, Suthee, Wayo, and Ming are seated. The two friends sit two row in front of the royal.

"Your name is Forth, right?" Forth nods."Is there no other way to get out of this mess?" As I say that, I keep nervously staring at my friends and prince. Forth just shake his head no.

"I'm sorry. The King's order is absolute. Furthermore, I have faith in my King." Forth states his unwavering loyalty. "Ready, because I'm going all out on you."

In an instant, Forth start to attack me with a barrage of magma ball. But, be the awesome me, of course, I manage to dodge it effortlessly. Mind you, I still do not use my power. If he is going all out on me, I guess there is no holding back for me too. Maybe not too much. 

As I dodge his attack, I make my way closer to him. He notices that and starts to turn the ground under my feet into magma. Luckily I manage to jump behind him to avoid it. As he turns to face me, he swings his magma fist towards me, in hope I will be caught off guard. Too bad, I never put my guard down in a fight. I manage to sidestep his attack and land a kick in his stomach that cause him to fly a few meters backward. But he still okay though.

"You are pretty strong for a slum dweller." 

"I'll take that as a compliment. You yourself are not bad either."  I say nonchalantly. He lunges himself towards me, this time with both fists turns into magma. 

"It is time to finish this off," I say to myself. As he is about to touch me, once again, I sidestep him and kick him right on the side of his face. Due to the impact, his body is thrown towards the spectator podium and crack its wall, unconscious. I just stand there, looking at the king nervously. Afraid he is going to force me to kill Forth. 

"What are you waiting for? Finish him off." The king tries to taunt me, but I will not succumb to his demand.

"I will not kill an innocent guy my King, Your order or not."I bow my head showing him that I respect him. Suddenly, I heard someone clapping their hand. When I raise my head looking for the source of the sound, I am shocked when I see the king is clapping his hand with a happy smile. Confuse is an understatement to what I am feeling right now.

"Congratulation, Phana. You pass my test. Looks like my son did not exaggerate when he said you did not even use your power to fight the thugs who try to harm my son last night."

"He was exaggerating the story, my King. I'm not that strong. It was just, the thugs are weak."

"Then, are you saying that Forth is weak too?" 

"Do you know that Forth is an alpha and the strongest guard in the palace? But still, you make it look like you are just fighting a toddler." What the King says, make me speechless.

"I have a proposition for you, Phana Kongthanin. Be my son's personal bodyguard and stick with him 24/7."

"I think I have to refu....."

"He'll gladly do it, my King" Beam interrupt my refusal. 

"Yes, my King. it will be an honor for someone like him to be able to serve his Prince" Kit chimes in. I just stand there, mouth hanging open. My best friends are definitely dead by tonight.

"Great. Suthee brings Phana to his chamber. And Ming, go take Forth to the infirmary. Wayo, follow me. Phana is officially your personal bodyguard starting now. So stick with him. ALWAYS." With that, the King walks away towards the palace.

"Wait, My King. I have a proposition too." Luckily I manage to speak before he enters the palace.

"Speak."

"My two friends, Beam and Kit will be apart of his Prince personal bodyguard too," I smirk while looking at my two friends who are gasping like a fish out of the water.

"Agreed. But it is you who need to stick with my son 24/7. Understand?"

"Your wish is my command, My King." I bow my head to him.
