"What the hell are you talking about?!" Hannah shouted as she managed to push Hazel's hand away from her face. "You have no idea what your talking about... you're crazy... or I am... I don't know" She sighed as she ran her hands through her hair. "All I know is that this can't be happening... I must be dreaming... that's it I'm dreaming! I'll just wake up in a few minutes from this truly awful nightmare, and then go downstairs and greet my mum and dad just like nothing ever happened." Hannah was muttering, her heart beat racing as she was on the verge of a mental collapse."Your not dreaming, this is real." Hazel exclaimed, clearly starting to get annoyed with the whole situation.
"But--" Before Hannah could say anymore Hazel covered her mouth with her hand again.
"Shut up and listen, I'm going to explain very briefly what I'm doing here and then we're going to go ok? so just relax take a breath because this is going to be a lot to take in." Hazel slowly removed her hand as Hannah nodded in acceptance. "Ok. Firstly, I'm not here to hurt you. Actually I'm here to do the opposite -protect you. I was sent here by our family. Yes, our real family not your adoptive parents down the street." In response to Hannah's questioning look. "Our family has been looking for you for nearly fourteen years. When we were just babies we were sent away from our home to far away places where no one could find us. We were sent away from an imminent danger that affected both our lives very greatly. Now, a year later they were able to track me down, but you. You, they could never find. We all searched long and hard for you, spells and incantations did nothing, we even sent out messages in the form of dreams to gain a latch on your location. For years nothing happened. That is, until recently." Hannah's eyes widened in realisation, her repetitive dream that she had been having every night for the passed few weeks, it had been a message. Of course this whole concept still seemed entirely implausible to her but at least this bit made sense.
"As soon as we got a connection to you it took a while to target your location but eventually we did it." Hazel continued as she sighed heavily. "So..." she grinned "Are you ready to meet your real family?" Before Hannah could reply a spiral of blue wind started to form to their right. It got larger and larger until a black hole started to form inside of it. As soon as the whole was big enough Hazel pushed Hannah into it and quickly jumped after her.
The last thing Hannah could see or hear was the noisy crowded streets of London before everything was swallowed up by darkness.
*********
Hannah woke up in the room from her dream. Not much had changed, the chandelier and the fireplace were still the same. The only difference was the large dark oak fourposter bed on which she woke up. Her head was throbbing as she tried to remember how she got here. She walked onto the balcony overlooking a beautiful city. Hannah gasped, "What the hell?" This made no sense. How could she be here, the last thing she remembered was walking to school in London. And this was definitely not London.
Hannah's eyes widened as she remembered what had happened. Her heart began to race as she thought of Hazel and what she had said. If only it was all a dream. But Hannah was sure that she was awake right now.
"New Orleans is beautiful this time of year, isn't it?" Hannah jumped and turned around. Hazel was standing in the doorway looking distantly onto the horizon.
"How did we get here?" Hannah pushed the hair out of her face, It was hot here but still windy.
"You remember the blue wind right?" Hannah nodded. "Well, that was a portal. They didn't exist until recently but Aunt Freya invented them for our use only." Hazel had changed out of her black clothing and into some denim jeans and a shirt. "So..." she came inside and sat on the big bed. "Are you ready to meet your family?" she asked.
"As ready as I can be."

Hannah followed Hazel into a long corridor filled with paintings framed in old gothic frames. One side of the corridor looked out onto a large courtyard with ivy growing up the sides. Hannah could see a group of people standing in the middle waiting for her. She descended a small spiral staircase and looked upon the crowd.
She recognised a few, they hadn't aged at all from her dream. It was a bit odd now she thinks about it. She saw Elijah in a similar suit to her dream, also the blonde man and woman were there as well. A tall girl approached her, she looked younger than the others with mousy brown hair and a big smile.
"I can't believe I'm finally meeting you!" She hugged Hannah, "My name's Hope, I'm your half sister." She smiled kindly, Hannah returned it. "This is my father, Klaus." She gestured at the blonde man from my dream. He smiled and nodded at her. "Uncle Kol and Aunt Rebekah, or Aunty Becks as she likes to be called" She gestured at a man with short dark brown hair, and a woman standing next to him smiling with long blonde hair. "Aunt Freya," The blonde woman from my dream stepped forward and hugged Hannah,
"It's so good to have you home." She sighed as she pulled away.
"And finally," Hope continued, "Your parents, Elijah and Hayley." Elijah and a woman with curly brown hair went forward to hug her.
"You have no idea how long I have waited for this." Hayley cried into Hannah's shoulder. Elijah placed his hand lovingly on her other shoulder. Hannah, not realising that she had been tensing relaxed into the comforting arms of her mother and father.
