Hazel and Hannah were lying side by side on the large double bed in Hannah's room. They were both unconscious.  In one's case they knew exactly why she was under and intended on keeping her that way, whereas the other was a total mystery. Their hands were intertwined as they lay peacefully in a calm, undisturbed sleep. Hannah lay still, her bodies only signs of life was the regular lifting of her chest as she breathed deeply.  Hazel was pale, her body drained of colour, as every minute passed she became paler and more sickly as Hannah became stronger and warmer.

Hannah sat up with a gasp. She coughed violently as she pushed herself up standing. She looked around the room thoughtfully. She smirked as she gazed down at her sisters unmoving body. How weak and pathetic she looked lying there on the bed, she almost looked like a corpse. Hannah laughed to herself as she walked out of the room.

She heard the chatter coming from the courtyard and smiled as she danced her hand along the balcony railing. The chatter abruptly stopped as all eyes in the room were on her.

"Hannah?" Hayley whispered shocked to see her daughter awake.

"Hi mum." Hannah leaned over the balcony railing, her arms crossed, grinning wickedly at them. "You didn't think you could really keep me sedated for long could you." Hannah laughed mockingly.

"You're not her." Hayley's eyes widened in realisation before forming coldly into slits. "Carlos," She hissed.

"You're not wrong." Hannah sang chirpily. "Aw come on you didn't think you could keep me buried for long could you?" Hannah placed her hands on her hips tilting her head and pouting in a fake sympathy. "Now I know you want your little Hannah back but I'm not so sure I want to let her go just yet." Hannah shook her head her frown sliding into a smirk. "I'll only let her go if you promise me one thing." Hannah raised her finger "One teeny tiny little thing and then you can have your daughter back"

"What is your demand Carlos." Elijah spoke calmly his tone however was not a peaceful one.

"I want my freedom." Hannah's smirk vanished, she now stared at them harshly.

Klaus burst out laughing. "Freedom?!" His voice turned to anger. "You can't have freedom from ME!!!"

"NIKLAUS!" Elijah shouted at his brother shocked. "Give him his freedom, a small price to pay for the life of your daughter. Or is it too hard for your ego to take?" Klaus moved towards him angrily. Hayley, sensing the confrontation, quickly stepped in.

"Klaus, Elijah stop now!" She stepped between them. "Klaus, give him his freedom I just want my baby back." She sighed tiredly and ran her fingers through her hair. She looked at him pleadingly and he sighed looking at his feet.

"Fine." He spoke looking at Hannah in her eyes. "I'll give you your freedom, now give me my niece back."

"Okay." Hannah spoke as she climbed over the balcony railing. Hayley's eyes widened as she realised what she was doing.

"Hannah NO!!!" She screamed as Hannah fell from the balcony only to be quickly swiped up by Elijah. He carefully lay her down on the ground as they all came round to look at her. Hayley gazed sadly at her daughters slack face. trying to contain her emotions.

Hannah's eyes fluttered open. Hayley gasped in shock as she sat up looking at her mother confused.

"Mum?" She whispered. "What happened? I was so scared mum, he took me to this house and they started chanting and then it all went black. I don't remember anything... why don't I remember anything?!" She sobbed into her mother's shoulder as her body shock with tears.

"It's okay baby its okay." Hayley cooed her, stroking her hair calmly.

Hayley guided Hannah back towards her room, calmly rubbing her shoulders, comforting her. She pushed open the mildly ajar door and stepped inside. She walked towards the bed before she froze in shock. Hazel looked dead. Hayley's heart began to pound in her chest as she ran towards her baby. She screamed for Elijah to come and help her. Hazel's body was a sickly grey, there were dark circles beneath her eyes and her chest was still. Hayley desperately searched for a heartbeat, focusing her hearing on Hazel's unmoving chest. She exhaled in relief as she heard the slow thumb of an incredibly slow but alive heart beat.

Freya ran into the room and looked to Hayley. Hayley nodded with a small smile to show her that she was still alive. Freya traced her hands over Hazel's body in a spiral pattern whilst slowly murmuring under her breath. She paused and her hands fell to her sides as she looked up at Hayley, tears brimming in her eyes.

"She's alive but its not good." She stood up sighing. "Hannah seems to be drawing the life force from her. I think it must have been a parting gift from Carlos at the fight at the graveyard."

"What do we do?" Klaus asked, his eyes wavering over Hazel's body then slowly moving to Hannah.

"It seems that if we were to reverse it then one would still draw from the other, either way one of them is going to die." Freya looked to the floor. She hated being the bearer of bad news especially when it came to her family. Hayley began to cry, her tears broke the barriers she had put up for her daughter and cried into Elijah's arms.

"I can't choose, please don't make me choose between them." She sobbed. Hannah, not being able to stand it any longer knelt down beside her sister.

"Why don't we see what see has to say?" She whispered as she took her sisters hand in her own. Her family, noticing what was happening each placed a hand upon her shoulders and closed their eyes. Hannah breathed in deeply as she too closed her eyes and delved deep into her sister's dying mind.
