Hannah breathed heavily and reached up and wiped a tear from her eye. She drew away from the hug smiling at her parents, well it would take a bit of getting used to so maybe just calling them Hayley and Elijah for now. She turned to face the rest of her new family. This wasn't too bad, a bit dysfunctional but she could grow to love them as they were her real family.

As if Kol could hear her thoughts he started to speak.

"Should I be the bearer of bad news?" Oh great. Hannah sighed. All good things don't last forever. "For I think we may have skipped a rather major detail in her introduction to us." Hannah was confused. What detail, were they all serial killers or something as from the look on their faces it might as well be.

"Kol!" Rebekah snapped

"It's okay, she was going to have to find out eventually." Hayley took Hannah's hand and guided her over to a wall filled with portraits. There were three main ones of Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah. All dressed up in clothes from around the 1800s. Hayley pointed to the painting of Klaus, "Can you see how old these paintings are?" She asked.

"Well they look pretty ancient but they can't be. And why are they all dressed up in old clothes was it some sort of cosplay or something?" Hannah laughed but immediately stopped when she saw the look on Hayley's face.

"These paintings were painted in 1856" She looked over at Hannah to see her reaction. Hannah's eyes widened.

"But how is that possible? Are you all time travellers or something?" She raised an eyebrow. "Okay, well if not then that would make you way over 150 years old!"

"Well," Elijah walked towards her smirking, "More like 1000." Hannah took a step back. Her heart was pounding. This wasn't possible, it couldn't be. Her breathing quickened.

"Are you immortal?" She whispered, knowing full well how stupid her comment sounded. But after the day that she had just had, she wouldn't put it past her.

"Yes, but not just immortal." Klaus stepped forward as grin plastered across his face, "We are the oldest Vampire family in history. We are the original vampires." He raised his hands as if to take a bow.

"All of you?" Hannah whispered, her voice hushed out of fear.

"No, not all. Your mother is a hybrid. Half vampire half wolf. As am I." Hayley half smiled, her eyes filled with sadness. "Your sister, Hazel, is a wolf. And Hope and Freya are Mikealson witches." Hope smiled warmly. "The rest of the family are vampires though." He finished, clearly looking proud of his family. Hannah felt sick, it was a lot to take in. When they said they had a secret, I was not expecting this.

But hey. At least their not serial killers right?

"But what about me? What am I?" Hannah breathed her voice cracking as she attempted to keep the tears in her eyes from falling. The last thing she wanted was to break down in front of these strangers, who were apparently her long lost relatives. Perfect.

"A witch just like Hope and Freya only-" Klaus began before Elijah cut him off.

"Enough of that for now, I think we've shocked her enough don't you think Niklaus?" Elijah looked at Klaus warningly. Rebekah sensing some conflict quickly grabbed Hannah's arm.

"Myself and other have been talking," She announced quickly changing the subject. "We all think that finding Hannah is a cause for celebration. And no one throughs a party quite like the Mikealsons" She smiled and looked down at Hannah. "What do you say? Fancy a party?" Hannah could feel everyone staring at her. She took a deep breath trying to calm down her racing heart beat.

"Sure, lets do it." Hannah exhaled slowly.

"Okay well first we kind of need to find you something to wear, because you cannot go to the party looking like that." Rebekah looked down at Hannah's ruined school uniform. Her shirt was muddy and dusty as her skirt was ripped from her confrontation with Hazel earlier.

"Don't worry," Hope came forward and started pulling Hannah away and back towards the stairs. "I'll take good care of her."

*********

Hannah stood in front of a long mirror, she looked down onto the pile of bags that she had gotten from shopping with Hope earlier. It had been amazing seeing the beautiful city of New Orleans. They had walked through a festival on their way with so many colours dancing and music. It was truly magical. And for the first time she could actually imagine herself living here in this amazing culture and arts.

Hannah gazed upon her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a long silk golden dress that Hope had picked out. Her hair was braided with gold roses cascading down her back. She also wore a golden necklace with a single tear drop off the end. She touched the necklace and smiled, Hope had nearly caught her hair in it whilst doing her makeup.

"You look beautiful." Freya appeared at the door. She was wearing a short silver dress that stopped by her mid-thighs. She smiled as she looked Hannah up and down. "Your mum's gonna be so proud of you."

"Thanks." Hannah smiled, blushing as she pushed a single strand of hair behind her ear.

"I know this is a big night for you, but as a little gift I thought I might teach you your first spell?" Freya looked questionably at Hannah as she walked into the room towards the fireplace.

"Spell?" Hannah stummered, "Like what?"

"A simple fire spell. nothing too complicated... don't worry." She added seeing Hannah's expression. "All your going to do is light these candles." She picked up two candle sticks and placed them on the table in front of them. "Okay, now repeat after me... Phasmatos Incendia"

Hannah waited a moment before copying, "Phasmatos Incendia" Nothing happened.

"Good," Freya smiled. "Now all you have to do is focus on the candles and as you say those words imagine them lighting up. Hannah closed her eyes and did what she said. She saw the candles in her mind and pictured them alight.

"Phasmatos Incendia." Hannah opened her eyes to see that not only the two candles but every candle in the room was alight. It was beautiful, they all looked like little fireflies. Hannah smiled, and for the first time in a while, felt peace.

She looked at Freya and saw the tears in her eyes. "That was amazing, you're even more powerful than I thought." She exclaimed.

"Now enough of that witchey business," Rebekah spoke appearing at the doorway. "You have a party to attend."
