"You did it." Hayley whispered admiring her daughters. She ran forward and embraced them both in a loving hug. Elijah and Klaus both smiled widely at them. Freya wiped a tear from her eye before clearing her throat.

"Okay, this is going to be difficult." She sighed as the reunion was quickly cut short. "Hazel, Hannah." She addressed them both, looking directly into their matching green eyes. "I'm so sorry... but Carlos has beaten us." Hazel furrowed her brows confused.

"What is she talking about?" She asked Hannah who just shrugged. Hayley's eyes widened in realisation.

"No, no, no, Freya, I can't lose them I just got them both back I can't lose them." Hayley pleaded to Freya but she just shook her head in dismay.

"I'm so sorry, but one of them has to die." Freya croaked as her tears got caught in her throat. "Carlos' spell cannot be broken, one of them is going to seep the life force out of the other. We can decide who it is but there is no going back after the decision is made."

Klaus, Elijah, Hope, Freya, Hayley, Hannah and Hazel all stood in a circle holding hands. Klaus opened his mouth to speak when Rebekah and Kol appeared beside them.

"What took you so long brother?" Klaus grimaced.

"We got stuck investigating a lead in a small town in California looking for you." He looked pointedly at Hannah.

"Needless to say, that town had a few too many issues with the supernatural but I can see we didn't arrive a moment too soon." Rebekah finished, looking around at the dismal expressions of the room. Both of them joined the circle as Hazel sighed.

"I'll do it." Hazel began. Hayley opened her mouth to retaliate but was immediately shut down by one glare from Hazel. "I've had my time with the Mikealsons, Hannah has only just discovered them. She is still so innocent, has so much more to learn about you, to learn to love you as I have. It would be a cruel joke if she died in place of me. I've taken many lives, I've managed to break the curse, which was thought to be impossible for someone of my kind, by killing so many in one blow. I am a monster, a useless one at that. All the power that I used to posses still runs through her veins. She deserves to live, not me."

"Hazel no-" Hannah began but was quickly shut down by Hazel.

"Just shut up and let me save your life ok?" Hazel smiled with tears brimming in her eyes. She pushed a stray hair out of her sisters face.
"Live a good life, make the most of it, for me." She pulled her into a tight embrace, her arms wrapped around her.

Hannah squeezed gripping hard on her sisters body, as tears cascaded down her cheeks, she shook as she sobbed into her sisters shoulder.

"I don't want you to go." She croaked. Hazel pulled away and wiped the tears from Hannah's eyes.

"I know... I know," she cooed. Hazel moved away from Hannah and moved to her mother.

"Please don't do this, I can't watch you go, your my baby, I'm not supposed to watch you die," Hayley's voice cracked as she shook her head violently in protest. Her hair was knotted and her eyes red from crying, tears still fell from her cheeks as she was pulled into a hug by her daughter.

"I'm sorry mom," Hazel whispered into her mother's shoulder. "There was no other way."

Hazel looked over to Elijah and held out her arm. He took it silently and joined the tear soaked embrace of his wife and daughter. He cradled their crying bodies as tears of his own quietly fell down his face. He had to remain strong for her. He was losing his daughter but he had to keep this family together as he has always done.

"Always and forever." Klaus whispered. As if he had read Elijah's mind put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Rebekah, Freya, Hope and Kol all did the same as the Mikaelson family was joined  in a final goodbye.

Hazel looked up to see Hannah standing off to the side of the room, awkwardly scratching her arm. She raised her free arm to motion her over to join the embrace.

"You're part of the family now if you like it or not." Hazel smirked, as Hannah walked over to them smiling.

"Always and Forever?" Hannah asked her eyes sore as she looked over all the faces of her family.

"Always and Forever." The Mikaelsons chanted in return.

*********

The Mikaelsons stayed in that position for what felt like hours but was only a few minutes, either way it wasn't enough. Hazel eventually broke the silence by sighing and pulling away attempting to untangle herself from the knot of arms surrounding her.

"It has to be now," she sighed looking to Freya for conformation. Freya nodded solemnly in return. It was time to say goodbye.

Hazel shifted uncomfortably as she moved to stand away from her family so she could see them all at once. They looked so powerful, loving and strong standing together. A group of people so incredibly different, who fight so much but in the end family comes above all. They love each other to no end, just like they love her and her them.

"It has been an honour being brought up in this family. I have been given opportunities that some may only dream of." Hazel looked to Hannah. "I hope you give her the amazing life you have given me and better, she deserves it." Hazel smiled as she looked back at her family. "Well, it's been a fun ride but the train ends here for me." Hazel smiled, her smile not reaching her eyes which were filled with sadness.

" I will love you all, Always and Forever." Hazel smiled as a single tear fell down her cheek. Slowly the illusion began to fade away and everyone was back in Hannah's room. Gazing over Hazel lying still in Hannah's bed.

Hannah walked over and squeezed Hazel's hand as she slowly felt her breathing slowing down until finally it stopped.

Hayley broke down to hysterics as she screamed out for her daughter falling to her knees as Elijah cried with her. Rebekah cried into Klaus' shoulder as Kol and Freya silently cried over Hazel's unmoving body. Hope sat in the corner on a chair staring at the floor. Tears failed to fall from her cheeks as she refused to believe that her little sister was gone. She would never hear her fiery personality again.

Hannah felt broken. Her other half was gone. Sure, she's only known her for a few weeks but that was enough to fill a void which she didn't know she had until she met her. But now that she is gone, the void is back and is deeper and heavier than before. Hannah felt an anger boiling inside of her. Hazel may be gone but her killer is still out there.

Carlos needs to die.
