Hannah watched out of the car window as the buildings and people slowly changed into fields. She looked over at Carlos. She knew she shouldn't have got in the car, but she also knew that she couldn't be around her family right now. She knew that being with Carlos would mean being as far away from them as possible.
Carlos said nothing throughout the journey. Just watching Hannah intently, every move she made was observed with a sickly grin plastered across his face. Hannah tried to keep her gaze as far away from Carlos as possible. Taking in the surroundings outside, whilst contemplating her decision to join him.
The car stopped at an old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. It was a dark red brick building with small windows with white paint peeling off them. It was completely secluded. Carlos got out of the car first and held out his hand for Hannah to take. She moved it away, still not forgetting how he hurt her.
"You may be wondering how I survived that little encounter with your mother?" Carlos smirked at her. Hannah only nodded, she was mildly curious. "I am no ordinary warlock. I possess the power to absorb magic from magical sources. Few witches possess this ability, however I am even more rare. I can transfer that magic not only into my own but into objects around me hidden until I choose otherwise. Not unlike your stone." He stopped talking temporarily as they reached the door of the house. Hannah hadn't even realised that they had been walking. He knocked four times before a man in black opened the door.
The inside of the farmhouse was drastically different from the outside. Compared to its old frail exterior, the inside is the prime example of modern architecture. The walls were enforced with metal. There were training mats on the floor which looked as if they could absorb an earthquake. Two men were sparring on them. Weapons laced the walls covered with herbs and stank of something dark. Hannah could sense the dark magic coming off them.
"You Hannah." Carlos began. "Are the key to our mission. The reason all of this exists." He gestured to all the men in black who now stared at her. Hannah took a sharp intake of breath as she realised that these men were the same ones who attacked her family at the church.
"What are you going to do with me?" She whispered.
"You are going to bring the destruction of the Mikaelsons and burn New Orleans to the ground." His grin had spread from ear to ear. Distorting his face into something monstrous. "And don't you worry." He spoke watching as tears ran down her face. "You will have no idea what you're doing!" Hannah collapsed into her knees and sobbed into her hands. Carlos only laughed as a dark chanting began in the room. Hannah could feel herself slipping away. With one wisp of strength she thought of Hazel, and tried to send a message.
"Help me."
*********
It had been a week since Hannah had gone missing. Hayley and Elijah had been tirelessly scoring the streets, searching but to no end. Klaus had taken his anger out on the witches, and the innocents. By every dead end they encountered, more bodies were left behind. The city was becoming a blood bath. Rebekah left with Kol and Davina, tracking down all the leads they could, no matter how small. Marcel ordered a city wide search to retrieve information. Freya and Hope were still working on locator spells but none worked. Not like before. There was some sort of block in place.
Hazel was at a loss. She was the youngest Mikealson, unable to help and feeling utterly useless. Even her connection to Hannah was lost, she felt like dead weight. She walked around the balcony of the courtyard. It had been so empty this past week with everyone out searching. The only sound was of smoke and chanting coming from Freya's room, where spells were being cast.
Hazel went into her sister's room. It was just how she left it. The cracks in the wall were showing and the floorboards were darkened and black from the fire. Someone had gone through the drawers looking for clothes, anything that could be a lead to her. The room itself looked desolate and melancholy. It reminded Hazel of how her room looked after her first full moon. After she had broken the curse.
She hadn't always been a werewolf. Before she broke the curse she was a witch like her sisters. When she was young the family was attacked. In order to protect them she unknowingly cast a spell killing the attacker in one snap of her fingers. She had been very powerful for her age. But all that power, all the magic went away the moment the curse was broken. Her mother had never looked at her the same since, it was if she was disappointed in her. But there was no other way. No other way to save her family.
Suddenly a strong wind burst through the courtyard, and filled the room in an uproar. Hannah was standing in the middle of it. Her face emotionless. Hazel screamed as the spiralling wind erupted into a wave of fire.
