Hazel crouched behind a gravestone. She glanced around making sure she wasn't seen. Freya and Hope had managed to use the tracking spell to gain a lock on Hannah's location but it was a bit vague. It had taken them to the cemetery in New Orleans, which made sense as it had a lot of history of magic surrounding it, which was probably needed to keep Hannah under the spell.
Hazel?... you ready?
Hayley's voice rang in her ears. Freya had connected all of them with a psychic link to keep in contact and prevent from being heard. Hazel gave her mother a quick acknowledgement to show that she was in position.
The plan was to ambush whatever meeting was happening, involving Hannah and whoever took her. Then kidnap Hannah and sedate her so they could try and break the spell later. Elijah and Klaus had spent all evening coming up with a plan whilst the rest of them waited anxiously for sunset for the plan to take action.
Hazel looked up from the gravestone and saw Elijah crouched behind another a few meters opposite her. He nodded once at her and she returned it. A small murmur of voices could be heard and it was getting louder. Hazel quickly ducked behind the gravestone once again and focused her hearing on the voices.
"Do you understand your mission?" Carlos. Hazel recognised that ghoulish voice from when they rescued Hannah the first time. Hazel swallowed anxiously. This was going to be harder than they thought.
"To exterminate the Mikaelson family." Hazel gasped. That was Hannah, she was sure of it. Her voice was flat and emotionless. Empty of its normal jokes and lightheartedness. It sent a shiver down her spine. Any hope of trying to talk Hannah out of this trance was definitely down the drain.
I see her. On my command. We go.
Klaus' voice rang in her ears. It was time to move. Hazel felt her eyes turn yellow as she prepared to fight. In her right hand she held a small syringe of liquid that Freya had given to each of them to inject Hannah with if any got close enough. She gripped the syringe tightly as she felt a growl forming in her throat.
NOW!!!
Klaus shouted and Hazel sprung from her spot behind the stone. Hannah and Carlos looked up in surprise as a wolf, two hybrids and a bunch of vampires came running towards them with glares of angry and violence written across their distorted faces. Hazel ran up to Carlos as he ducked behind Hannah. Hannah looked up and raised her hands as the ground shook violently beneath them. A few fell down but Hazel managed to stay on her feet, maintaining her balance she jumped towards Hannah with her right hand outstretched.
Hazel was blown backwards from strong wind that knocked the air out of lungs. She hit the ground hard and groaned as she rolled over. She rolled onto her knees and coughed violently. She looked down and saw the blood on her hands. It wasn't a good sign but she knew she couldn't stop. Hazel growled.
"Let my sister go!" Hazel screamed as she ran towards Carlos. Her eyes were golden yellow filled with rage. Her claws had sprung out and a large menacing growl was crawling out of her. She jumped onto him from behind. He gasped in shock as she grabbed his head with one hand. With the other she brought it up and in one menacing sweep, slashed his throat with her claws.
She jumped off him as he fell to the floor like a rag doll and lay there motionless. Hazel breathed heavily as she gazed at his body. Adrenaline was coursing through her as she looked at him. She didn't feel a single regret watching the blood seep out of him onto the stone walkway.
"Hazel!"
Hazel snapped out of her trance and quickly turned her head. Both her parents and Klaus were desperately trying to get close to Hannah, but she was deflecting them at every turn, barely moving a muscle. Hazel, seizing the opportunity, ran towards Hannah as she was being distracted by Klaus. She held up the syringe and jumped. Then moved her hand down in one giant swinging motion into Hannah's neck. Hannah screamed in shock as she fell to her knees. As she did so a giant gust of wind exploded from her. Throwing everyone around her backwards into gravestones. Hazel, having been standing right next to her was thrown the furthest. She hit her head on a large stone pillar and fell unconscious.
"Hazel?... Hazel wake up. Hazel please come on sweetheart."
Hazel blinked her eyes open. Hayley was looking over at her from above. A worried expression written across her face. Hazel tried to sit up but a wave of nausea hit her and she violently threw up to the side. She saw blood as she looked down. Her mother's eyes had tears in them.
"My god we need to get you to Freya. This does not look good." Hayley cradled Hazel's head in her hands and smiled. "We did it sweetheart. You did it. You saved her." Hazel smiled weakly through the blood on her lips. She looked over and saw Elijah carrying Hannah's unconscious body in his arms before he rushed off, undoubtedly back to Freya so they could work on the next stage of the plan.
Hazel looked up at her mother with tears brimming in her eyes smiling with happiness.
"Thank you mom." Hazel whispered before she fell into the darkness.
