Chapter 12

{Jack's P.O.V}

As I walked away from Elsa's house, I could see a familiar black car driving towards me.

It stopped right beside me as the driver's door was soon opened, only to reveal my sixty-something years old chauffeur and butler; Harry.

"Master Jack, I have been looking for you for quite a while. When I had arrived at your father's school, you were nowhere to be found. Would you like me to bring you home now?" He asked, opening one of the car doors.

I shrugged, entering the car.

As usual, it was a quiet ride back home.

I almost fell asleep seeing the same old scenery over and over again, until I spotted someone standing outside the front gates.

It was Hiccup.

As I slid down the window, I could hear Hiccup arguing with one of the new guards through the speaker.

"I'm telling you; seven years! We've been friends for seven years!"

"I'm sorry sir, but if Master Jack doesn't confirm this himself, you're not allowed to enter."

"Why you...!!!"

I snickered a little, trying to hold in the laughter.

Hiccup was fuming. It was like he could explode at any moment!

After a few more futile attempts, I decided to "save the day".

"I see you've got quite a companion there, Hiccup," I said, acting impressed.

He furrowed his brows as he turned towards me, then stomped up to the car.

"Move over," Hiccup commanded, quite irritated.

"Ai ai, captain!" I joked as I opened the door and slid to another seat.

With the now angry and annoyed Hiccup in the car, Harry drove us inside. He then escorted Hiccup and I to one of the family rooms, leaving and closing the door somehow knowing that we would be having some sort of private talk.

We both sat down on seperate couches, sitting across from each other as Hiccup tried to calm down.

After a short while, Hiccup soon began to talk.

"You probably know why I'm here, right?" he asked.

"Um... to complain to me about our new guard...?"

"I'm serious, Jack."

"Okay, okay, I'll get serious now; promise."

He took one stern look before continuing.

"I... I'm sorry... about what I did to Elsa. But I'm willing to do anything if that means we can start over."

"You know... I really hate repeating myself. YOU. ARE. TOO. LATE. See it, remember it, and deal with it. Don't be so hooked on her."

"Me? Hooked? I could be saying the same thing to you. You're practically with her every second of the day! And you expect me to believe you haven't grown at least a little bit of feelings for her? You've just been trying to get close to Elsa all this time, haven't you?"

"Hey, I didn't hang out with her just so that I could make a move on her, okay? It was to get you two toge-"

I instantly shut my mouth before I could say anymore.

Hiccup, you sly little...!

He soon smiled like he had figured out a huge mystery problem.

"I see... so then why don't you want us together? I like her, she likes me. It's perfect," he said.

I looked down, trying to set my mind straight.

It's true... I've been over this with myself before, but I still can't understand why I'm not letting them get together. It was my plan all along, right? But then... I can't help but feel... angry at myself for trying to get them together...

       Do I really... like her...?

I looked back up at Hiccup, now knowing my answer.

"'Why' you ask? Maybe because I would rather think of something so disgusting and horrid than think about her in your arms," I said sternly.

"What-- are you saying you like her?" Hiccup looked confused, as if he hadn't been expecting me to say that.

"I... I guess I am."

After saying that, I felt some sort of weight come off my shoulders.

Hiccup looked at me, a bit taken back.

It was then silent for quite a while.

"I won't hand her over to you," I said, breaking the tense atmosphere.

Hiccup chuckled, and sighed a little.

"Surprisingly enough, I won't hand her over to you either..."

Once again, it became silent.

"May the best man win?" I added.

"Yeah... sure." and with that, Hiccup got up and left the room.

I sighed as I laid down on the couch.

These last few days have been quite a hassle...

Who knew that the guy I'd have to fight for the girl I like would be my own best friend?

I mean, really...

Elsa, you really are something if you've managed to make two of the school's most popular boys fall for you.
