Chapter 14

Mulder's POV

After the prom, it was the last time I got to be near Scully. That night will forever be in my mind. We just danced and danced. When the song was not even finished, Brad took her from me. And they were dancing. I just stepped back, turned, and walked away when I was at the door, I turned back and I saw Scully looking at me while dancing with Brad. I didn't want to leave but I felt it was the right thing to do.

1 month later, graduation. Yes, I can't believe it. I thought I would never survive high school. Phew!

Mom and Dad were sitting on the bench, smiling down at me. I smiled too. And then I felt someone was looking at me. So I turned my back and saw Scully. She was smiling at me and so I did.

The graduation rites took 2 hours. My parents congratulated me. Then I excused myself and searched for Scully. I looked for her everywhere but I couldn't find her.

Then I saw Monica with her family. When she saw me she walked towards me.

"Hi Mon, have you seen Scully?" I asked.

She was just silent and looking sadly at me.

"Are you okay, Monica?" I was worried.

"Fox..ahm, Dana left," she answered sadly.

"Already? But we haven't taken our class picture yet." I said.

"No, I meant, she left..she left us I don't know when will we see her again."

Suddenly I felt confused and I had a feeling I would not like what Monica did.

"They left an hour ago Fox. They went straight to the airport I am...hey where are you going?!"

I did not finish listening to Monica. I left her and ran to the nearest exit I hope I can still catch Scully. I just heard Monica shout "Fox! You can't catch her! I think the plane already left! Fox!"

I opened my car and once I was in I stepped on it and didn't care about the speed limit. I know she's not allowed to talk to me but she could've at least told Monica to tell me she's leaving.

Ugh! Traffic! Dammit! Come on! Come on!

But as soon as the green light was displayed I sped it up and arrived at the airport.

I looked around. No Dana Scully. Then I received a text from Monica. She said "Dana and her family will move to London. She will continue her studies there. Good luck Fox."

Sigh. I kept on searching but I still can't find her. Then suddenly a man who I think is working in the airport handed me a letter "Are you Fox Mulder?"

I just nodded. Then the man continued "A red-haired young woman gave this to me. She said if I see a young man tall and wearing a printed alien shirt..." he pointed at my shirt "I will give this to him. I can't see anyone wearing a printed alien shirt except you. I guess you are what she described. So here. Have a nice day."

I said thanks and he left.

I opened the letter and it was her penmanship.

Dear Mulder,

When you read this I may be a thousand feet above. I am sorry that I didn't tell you that I will leave. I don't want you to be in more trouble with my family. I don't want you to get hurt. And... I hate goodbyes. I don't like saying goodbye to people that I care about and...love.

Love? She loves me?

I like you, Mulder. Ever since you showed me how spooky you are *insert chuckle*

I chuckled.

You changed me. You showed me things, unbelievable but amazing things. You made me feel special. I will never forget the you look at me. I will miss it. Thank you, Mulder, for coming into my life. I don't know if we will see each other again. Take care and please always be happy. Don't change. Always be spooky. I like you just the way you are.

I finished reading her letter, but I couldn't put it down, I just stared at it. Then I put it in my wallet.

Damn! I never felt so empty before. There are so many things I want to tell her. I want to tell her that...that I don't just like her. I love her.

I looked around and started walking out and all I could think of were those big, blue, beautiful eyes of hers.
