Chapter 25

Mulder's POV

We were deep in the woods looking for Scully and Aira until we heard a gunshot. We all went in the direction where it came from and then heard another one.

My heart was racing while we ran. Scully and Aira were in trouble for sure and I can't take it if anything bad happens to any of them. They are my family now. They are my life.

A moment later, we saw a cabin. The FBI checked if someone was there but it was quiet. John and his men went ahead.

"Fox" he called me and I didn't like the face he displayed. "You have to see this." he was worried.

I stepped inside the cabin and saw Scully. On the floor. With blood.

I froze, my eyes widened then hurriedly ran to her and got down on my knees. I held her head up and held where the blood was coming out.

"Call 911! Now!" I shouted. Then tears running down my face."Scully...Scully...please...wake up. Please."

She slowly opened her eyes and said "Mul...der..." She gave me a small smile and slowly raised her hand to touch my face. "Dia...Diana... Diana...took Ai. Aira..plea...please get...get her back..."

I nodded. And told John to carry Scully back to the hotel and take her to the hospital and he obliged.

I didn't know where to start looking for Diana. But one of the FBI saw a tire track going south. I looked around to see if there was any vehicle I could use.

And then I saw a motorcycle. I told the FBI to just catch on me. I mounted the motorcycle and followed the tire tracks.

John's POV

I ran as fast as I could. Dana was getting weaker. "Hang in there Dana. Don't leave us yet."

Dana looked at me.

"You will be the godmother of my child, Dana, so please hang in there," I said still running and I know she was smiling,

"Why...why you..you..didn't...tell me...that..that Monica is...preg..pregnant?" she asked.

"It was supposed to be a surprise. Please, Dana, fight."

She nodded and then she went unconscious.

"No! Dana! Shit!" I reached the hotel while carrying Dana. Ambulances were there. Monica ran towards me, crying. She saw Dana and her tears were like waterfalls.

"What happened to her?" she asked.

I lay her on the stretcher and answered Monica "Diana shot her. And Brad too but he died."

Monica was shocked and I know there were a lot of questions she wanted to ask "I want to know what happened but for now, I'll go with Dana, John. Where is Fox?"

"He went after Diana, she has Aira," I answered.

"Oh my God!"

"I know. I better go after them. Take care okay?"

I kissed Monica and left.

Mulder's POV

As I was driving as fast as I could, I couldn't help but think how could Diana do all of this? I know she can be mean but not to this extent.

She's always been jealous of Scully but how could she include an innocent child? To think that she's a pediatrician.

Then I saw a black 4WD on the left side I drove faster when I got close to the car, it was Diana.

"Diana!" I shouted.

She looked at me, surprised and then she stepped it up and drove faster. I also saw Aira crying.

I caught up with her and shouted "Diana! Stop the car!"

"No Fox!" she shouted back.

"Please!! We can talk about this!"

"Nooo!"

Then she speeds it up and I can't catch up with her. Until she hit a very large and thick bush.

"Aira!!!" I sped up and when I got to the car it was empty. She must've escaped fast taking Aira with her.

Then I heard Aira shouting my name. "Fox!!! Fox!!! Daddy!!!"

"Aira!!!" I ran to where the direction of her call was from.

I came across a bush again and when I got out from it. I saw Diana and Aira, standing near a cliff.

My heart beat faster and I looked at Aira whose blue eyes were filled with tears.

"Diana...please. Give Aira to me. We can talk about this. Don't hurt her. She is just a child Diana." I pleaded.

"I don't care, Fox! She is Dana's child and I don't care!" Diana's eyes were big, it was like I was looking into a mad person.

"You want me, right? You...you can have me. I...I will leave Scully." I lied. She just looked at me fighting over whether to trust me or not.

"If that's what it takes for you to give Aira back to her mother...then I will leave Scully and be with you." I said trying my best not to sound like I was lying.

She just looked at me. I think she believed me. Then she smiled and said, "You think I would fall for that, Fox?"

I was shocked and I didn't have any idea what she would do next.

Then...she pushed Aira but the little girl got a hold of Diana's arm and they both fell into the cliff!

"Nooooo!!!!" I ran to the cliff, and I got down on my knees, looked down, and saw Aira holding a part of a rock to keep her from falling but it wouldn't last long. While Diana did the same thing but she's below Aira.

Diana grabbed Aira's left foot which made Aira's hands slide but I grabbed her little hands in time.

"Let go of her Fox!" Diana shouted.

"No! Why are you taking all these to an innocent child?! She's hurting! Diana, please let go of her!"

She laughed "You know I would never..." Then the other hand she held to prevent her from falling, slipped. She let go of Aira's foot and struggled to pull herself up.

"Diana!" Even though she did horrible things to us, she was my best friend but she had to pay all of these in prison. "Diana! Grab my hand! I can pull you both up!"

She tried to grab my hand but when our hands nearly touched, the other hand she was holding on a rock broke loose...she fell off the cliff.

"Foooooox!!!!" until I didn't hear her anymore.

I closed my eyes, then I remembered another life was depending on me.

I looked at Aira and pulled her up. Once she was safe, she threw herself into my arms and cried.

"You are so brave, my baby." I held her head and kissed the top of it. "Let's go to mommy, ok?"

She looked up at me and nodded.
