Chapter 9

Scully's POV

I just finished packing my things for camp and Melissa was helping me bring them to our front porch where I will wait for Monica to pick me up.

"Are you sure you got what you need?" Melissa asked worriedly.

"Yes. I got them, Missy." I answered her confidently.

"You sure?"

I sighed and said "Yes, Missy I'm sure. Don't worry I can handle myself."

"I know but..."

I held her hand and said "I will be okay. Okay? And it's just for two nights and a day. By Sunday evening I will be home. Don't worry. And...you sound like mom Missy."

We just looked at each other and both chuckled.

"Okay okay...Geez, I sound like mom." She said while I smiled. "So, Fox will be there too, right?" I was about to say something but I didn't have the chance. "I know you still talk to him."

I was shocked that she knew.

"But don't worry I will not tell them." She is talking about our parents and Bill.

"Thank you, Missy." I hugged her. Then she breaks free.

"Fox is a good young man. His ideas and beliefs are spooky..." I smiled when she said that then she continued "...but he will never do anything to hurt you. I can see that."

Then I said "You know, the two of you have in common. I just can't explain it."

Melissa smiled and said, "You just have to open your mind, Dana."

I didn't understand what she meant but just when I was about to talk Monica arrived with her Vios car.

"Well, you better go. Take good care there okay."

"I will. Bye." I said, hugged her, and left. I got into Monica's car and looked at my older sister who looked worried but hid it with a smile. She waved at us then we took off.

"Your sister looked worried," Monica said as she drove.

"Yeah, I think she is trying to be a mom. But I know Missy, she is just looking after me." I said.

Then Monica turned the radio on and the song Closer by The Chainsmoker featuring Halsey is on.

"She is your big sis after all and she's been always like that to you even when were little." Said Monica.

"yeah." I just looked outside.

"So are you excited?" she asked shaking her shoulders mildly.

And I just laughed then said "Not really. And what's with the shaking of shoulders"

"Duh...Knock! Knock! Dana, Fox will be there too so you have lots of time to spend with him."

"Wha...What are you talking about?"

When the traffic light was red Monica looked at me and said "Dana, I know you two have...something...feelings, whatever for each other so... it's a good time for you to spend it together as long as the fowl will not get in the way."

"Monica, I don't have feelings or whatever for Mulder." I defended.

"Yeah right. Take a look" she was pointing in her far left side. Mulder was walking in the pedestrian line in front of us. My eyes just moved with him. "See that's what I'm talking about"

"What?" I know what Monica was trying to say but I am confused about it.

The traffic light was green.
