Chapter 5- Secret Room

William

"Your chamber queen gave this to me," Jacqueline replied.
"That's the uniform for...never mind." Umiling-iling ako. I need to talk to Lottie about this.
She waved her hand. "It doesn't matter. Anyway, I need a room for my...things, Your Majesty." She dismissed me effectively.
"I have a roommate and I don't have privacy." She added. She's referring to her undercover job things.
"There is a secret room that you can use," I told her. I stumble at that secret room when I was new in here and it became my hideout.
"Meron?" tanong ni mama.
Tumango ako. "Turo ko sayo." Tumayo ako at nilahad ang kamay ko kay Jacqueline.
"If you can excuse us, mother?"
"Yeah sure. I will tell Lottie that I asked you to settle my clothes in my chamber." Mama told Jacqueline.

But knowing Jacqueline, she didn't give her hand but motioned for me to proceed. Maraming entrance and secret room na iyon. Kailangan kong ituro sa kanya lahat ng daan para hindi siya maligaw dito.

I think the room was design in case of invasion in the palace during the French War. Sinundan kami ng tingin ni mama hanggang sa nakatayo na kami ni Jacqueline sa tapat ng isang bookshelves. On the top shelf, I pulled a lever that was disguised as a book, and the shelf move. It swings in half revealing a passage.

"After you, My Lady," I told Jack. Itinaas ni Jack ang palda niya at kinuha ang cellphone nya doon.
Binuksan niya ang flashlight at inilawan ang daanan bago pumasok. I waved to mama before I closed the shelf.

"This way." Turo ko kay Jacqueline. Makipot ang daan. Halos isang metro lang ang lapad nito.
"There is a lot of entrance to that room. There is an entrance from my mother's chamber, drawing room, throne room, library..." And my room but I didn't tell her that.

Tahimik si Jack na pinagmamasdan ang dinadaanan namin hanggang makarating kami sa isang kwarto na hindi kalakihan. Meron doong couch na pwedeng higaan at isang table.Walang bintana sa kwarto kaya nakakabingin ang katahimikan dito.

"Meron bang power source dito?" She asked me. The only source of light we have is her phone.
"Meron siguro. Pwedeng kumuha sa kwarto ni mama. Yung room niya ang pinakamalapit dito." I replied.

Tinaas na naman ni Jacqueline ang palda niya and I saw a belt of blades in her thigh. Merong kinuha siya kinuha sa belt at binigay niya sa akin. Isang earpiece.

"Connected yan sa office namin." Tumingkayad siya at nilagay niya iyon sa tenga ko.
"Sparrow." She said and I heard her on the earpiece.
"Roger." I heard a female voice that replied.

"That is my...assistant." Paliwanag ni Jacqueline.
"A shadow." Sagot naman ng babae. Kumunot ang noo ko. Ano ang shadow?
"You can talk to her and ask her to connect you to me or to Kiro."
"Sino si Kiro?" I asked.
"Back up ko siya. Nasa labas ng palace. Meron siyang kailangan maset-up dito. Pwede mo ba siyang tulungan na makapasok nang hindi nakikita?"
"Okay...sure." Sagot ko.
"Okay good." Tumango siya. She's too focused on her job.
"Sparrow, ikaw ng bahala maki-coordinate kay Kiro at William."
"Okay, Ate Jack." Sagot nito.
"Be professional." She murmured and the girl on the other end chuckled.
"You know, I hate those code names." Sagot nito.
"You can call me Xykie, Your Highness."
"Then call me William," I replied.

Jacqueline asked Xykie to cut her connection with me and in an instant, I can't hear her in this earpiece. Nag-aya ng lumabas si, Jacqueline. Tinuro ko sa kanya isa-isa ang entrance at kung nasaan ang switch. Lumabas kami sa throne room dahil alam kong walang tao doon. In an instant, dumistansya si Jacqueline sa akin. She's playing her role and I don't like to see her wearing that blasted uniform of a servant. She colored her hair brown and twist it in a tight bun behind her head. She excused herself and made her way to the kitchen.

Doon nagsalita si Xykie. Medyo nagulat pa ako dahil nandoon pa pala siya. Nakikinig lang.
"Kiro is on the other line, William," Xykie said.
"God, I forgot you are still there. Put him in."
I heard her chuckled, then I heard a male voice. Ah, this excites me. Kailangan kong tumakas sa palace gaya ng dati. Napagkasunduan namin kung saan kami magkikita at anong oras. To say that a guy is a man of few words is an understatement.

"Xykie?"
"Yup?"
"Matagl na kayong magkakilala ni Jacqueline?" Tanong ko sa kanya.
"Hearing you calling her Jacqueline gives me a feeling that you like her."
"What? No... I just asked." I replied defensively. Tumawa si Xykie.
"She doesn't like to be called on her whole name. Ikaw lang ang hindi niya sinuntok nang tawagin mo siyang Jacqueline. Anyway, iisang lugar lang kami lumaki. I even saw you when you were here in the Country Club."
"Hindi kita napansin."
"Hindi mo naman ako kilala." Sagot ni Xykie. And oo nga pala. Pinapasabi ni Kuya Carlos, yung Lamborghini daw nila, kailan daw ang delivery?"
She's chuckling on the other end. I made a noise of resignation kaya lalong tumawa si Xykie.
"Did Ate Allison told you anything about your future?" Tanong ni Xykie.

"You already found your princess," Allison said to me when she saw me in Administration Building.
"What are you saying?"
She shrugged. "The lady in your hidden wallet."

"No... She didn't tell me anything." Sagot ko.
"Too bad. She always keeps it a secret. Anyway, I am online 24/7, just say my name and I will answer. Bye for now William." Nawala si Xykie sa kabilang line.

Allison gives me a creepy feeling.
