Four days later had passed since that night but to John and Olivia, the days seemed to go by much slower but they weren't complaining at all. Ever since the night they confessed their love for each other, they rekindled things and spent every moment together, as if nothing had ever happened between them in between those two years. She realised that their love for each other was a complete difference from the relationship she had with Don. Olivia had been so content and happy these past few days that she had almost forgotten she was still married to him, technically.
John's spirits had seemed to be lifted the moment she came back into his life. Things for him just made sense when she was around and he never felt self-conscious of anything anymore. Olivia always had so much confidence in John's dreams and wishes that when she had not been completely around, he felt he was losing that bit of faith. Her presence alone was all he needed to give him that reassurance once again.
The night was drawing to a close as they all sat in a circle on the floor of Paul's living room with a cloud of cigarette smoke hovered throughout the room. Paul had borrowed a tape recorder from his cousin and decided it had been time to get the lads together to record some songs they had written and loved to cover. George continued to softly pluck his guitar strings as Paul leaned over his crossed legs, listening to the playback of what they had just recorded. Stu was sitting next to Paul with a cigarette in between his fingers, looking around at all of the pictures and knick-knacks that were hung on the wall.
John sat next to Olivia on the floor, with his guitar laying on his lap as he continuously glanced at her while listening to the playback. Every moment John had looked upon her face, he felt as if he could be lost in her. They had spent so much time apart and bickering that it had been so long since he had really looked at what he had been missing. He held his hand out to her, giving it a gentle squeeze the moment she had placed her hand into his.
Olivia really missed Liverpool. She had missed the surroundings, the smell, and of course, the company. Although, there were some things that began to bother her. She hated dressing up in hideous disguises every time she and John wanted to go out together. On another note, she missed working. It was what made her happy and made her feel confident about herself. The longer she stayed in Liverpool, the more worried she became for her career. The only thing that was keeping her mind preoccupied with her career and her divorce was the lads and John.
Stu flicked his cigarette to John, seeing it land onto the hand he was holding Olivia's with, "Aye, sack it ya twits," he furrowed his eyebrows at them, "Gettin' so fuckin' chocked seein' ya swap lips over there."
Paul flicked the off button on the tape recorder, shaking his head at the both of them, "I find it more pleasant than the bickering, right?" He winked at her, "What a bloody mess that was."
"Still is," George shook his head with a smile, watching Olivia rest her chin onto John's shoulder, "At least she's keepin' John away from fights and gettin' us kicked out of places."
John smirked as he looked at Stu, leaning into Olivia's shoulder, "Ah, he's just bein' an arl arse 'cause he hasn't slept well the past few days."
"For Christ sakes, if I didn't have to listen to the moanin' and the sound of the fuckin' mattress movin' every bloody second of the day, I'd be in a better mood," Stu glared at John and Olivia, tapping off the ashes of his cigarette in the ashtray.
He giggled and poked Olivia in her side, making her jump and giggle, "She's a bit loud, ya see."
Olivia playfully poked John back in the side, making him slightly jump, "I can't help me moanin' when you're in the right spots.."
