January 30, 1962

The night before the wedding - 8:53 p.m.

She hadn't really planned on having a bachelorette party. Olivia had wanted to keep things fairly low-key around the wedding, but once Paul, George, and Stu insisted on giving John one, there was no chance of that. Olivia had invited her closest friends Julie, Lesley, and Elizabeth to the wedding. Therefore, for them to throw her a small bachelorette party for Olivia was just a bonus for the girls.

As Olivia sat at the bar at the Jacaranda, she wasn't quite sure why she agreed to this. Of course, she was getting married and wanted to celebrate, but why she agreed to go out was a mystery. It was a Tuesday night, for Christ sakes, and they were the only ones in the club at this hour.

She looked around at her friends and laughed, already noticing the degrees of intoxication they were in.

Starting with Elizabeth, who was the most excited one out of them to get out and party, had a martini glass in her hand, giggling as the bartender poured her another round. Julie was next, shaking her empty scotch glass, waiting for the bartender to fill her glass. She had been eyeing the bartender for some time and it surprised Olivia she hadn't made a move yet, especially with how many drinks she's had. Then there was Lesley, who was still quite sober. She nudged Olivia's elbow resting on the bar, watching both Julie and Elizabeth slur their words to the bartender. As much as Olivia would have loved to join them and enjoy the heavy amount of drinks, the taste of alcohol had made her nauseous since her pregnancy, so she had just decided against it while she had been out and to enjoy the company she had.

"We really should have called a stripper or escort for ya," Julie laughed obnoxiously, slamming her glass back down on the bar.

Olivia smirked, rubbing her hands over her barely-there bump, "Right, a stripper for the pregnant bird here."

"But... it's your last night of freedom!" Elizabeth giggled loudly, throwing her hands up in the air.

She never really understood why having a party was necessary. What did she mean it was her 'last night of freedom'? Since being with John, her mind had been set to be with him hopefully the rest of her life. Marriage wasn't supposed to be a cage. Why did they force her to go through a tentative last hurrah just because she was getting married tomorrow? And after watching those two, it was decided in her mind it was all to get drunk.

While Elizabeth and Julie seemed to be enjoying themselves too much, Olivia turned to a quiet Lesley, who had been staring at her untouched drink, deep in thought.

"What's the matter, Les?" She leaned into her shoulder, giving it a little nudge, "Not gonna join them?"

She had a half smirk on her face as if something had been troubling her. Olivia never really saw Lesley so secretive. Usually, she was an open book even though she did act more mature than the rest of them.

"I'm deeply happy for ya, Liv.. but I can't help feeling a little jealous," she heavily sighed, throwing her head back as she quickly threw the shot of whiskey in her mouth. "Oh god, that's brisk," she made a face as the taste was still vivid in her mouth.

"Come 'ead, Les, ya shouldn't be jealous, ya know," she patted her belly, "A lot of responsibility comes with everything."

Lesley shuddered after biting into the lemon, turning back to Olivia, "But ya don't understand. I want all that. Ya don't know how lucky ya are, Liv. To have someone who loves you for everything you are and not just your tits."

She became concerned for Lesley, wondering what had been going on in her life lately. It had been a few months since she had caught up with her friend but now, she became a little concerned.
