"You guys are not serious, are you?" Liv hissed, green eyes squinted at her best friend; the thoughts of flipping her off coming to mind. Thinking about rebelling against your parents was one thing. But actually being that rebellious was another. "We can't get out of here. Your father has the ground monitored, Julia. Not to mention, all those security guards prowling everywhere."

"It's not like we're prisoners or something," Darien snorted, combing her slender, olive fingers through her sleek, black hair, her honey-brown eyes fixed on her reflection in the mirror.

She looks gorgeous in that dress, Liv thought idly. It was true. The vibrant blue of her Versace brought out those brown eyes, the hem stopping right at her knees, showcasing her model-esque body.

However, Liv was in the mood to complain. "I don't see anything wrong with the soiree. Besides, there will be just us for the dinner." To the closed bathroom door, she added, "Julia, we can just chill."

"Well, that's probably because you don't have your glasses with you," Darien remarked, smirking at her own joke before slipping her cell phone out of her GG Marmont, velvet clutch.

I am wearing contacts, Liv wanted to say, but speaking didn't feel comfortable. Her pale cheeks were as red as the fringy Stella McCartney she wore. For a pretty girl, she surely looked ugly when she blushed.

The sound of a toilet-flushing came from the bathroom. Julia Eden marched out, her long, pale legs first, followed by the golden of her hair glistening so amazingly under the fluorescent light on the ceiling. Her bee-stung lips grew into a smile -the effortless kind of smile that one would practice in the privacy of their own home before the mirror, looking like an idiot while doing it.

"Everything will be fine unless we get caught, and you know we never get caught," she said, her voice calm and elegant.

She was right. Julia, Darien, Elle and Liv had been sneaking out of their houses day and night since eighth year. As for getting caught, that only happened once. Elle never joined them afterward. But Liv didn't want to think about that now. Besides, Julia always knew how to handle an embarrassing situation where Liv would never like to be caught dead in.

Julia ripped a paper towel from the nearest dispenser, faced the mirror and checked her appearance.

"God, I look like I'm wearing a chastity belt," she muttered under her breath, her blue eyes darting over the materials in her glittering Victoria Beckham clutch. A small blister packet of pills from inside caught Darien's attention.
