The undisturbed view of London from the terrace was impressive. Neal watched as Julia, with her small hand on his, led him to her friends at the far left, sitting on the cream L-shaped sofa, a bit hyper as they talked and laughed over their rainbow sherbets. Julia's hand was cool and soft, and it was a nice change from the clammy hands of the nervous girls he usually dated back at Boston. It didn't matter that the ruby on Julia's finger was cutting on his palm.

A whiff of gin hit him when they reached the spot.

Three girls were sitting together at the right shielded by the glass railing, busy with their iPhones. One of them was petite and pale with fiery red curls and skin so translucent that he could see her veins and one tall and slender with sleek black hair and shiny olive skin, and another one was tall with remarkable brown skin that screamed South Asia with black curls touching her hips; A cluster of boys was present too, flocking around two twin brothers and a tall pale boy hiding his face behind his hoodie. Neal looked back at Julia, noticing her face glow as she reclined her head and finally caught the sight of something. He followed her gaze, finding her admirer, Noah Clarke, the boy she had introduced as a friend or more than a friend. Clarke was sitting behind the red-haired girl, casually talking to his friends, his golden hair shining at the LED light overhead.

"Ah, Jules!" One of the twins was first to notice Julia. His brown eyes narrowed at the sight of Neal as he elbowed Noah who quickly glanced up from his flip flops. But before he could stand, three girls Neal had seen eyeing their phones, breezed up, "You're so late."

Returning their hugs and kisses, Julia pulled back and looked back at him, her eyes as blue as sapphires stared at him from under heavy eyelids. However, a trace of Jasmine floated in the air and a voice said, "Why, Jules, how sweet you look!"

This girl was like walking sex, with her auburn hair rich and glossy, porcelain skin trapped inside a sheer black top and cherry-red shorts. While Julia was more of a classic beauty, she seemed vixen-like. She hugged Julia tightly as if she had been patiently waiting.

Maybe they were best friends.

"Chelle," Julia laughed nervously in her friend's hair, watching Noah who walked towards Neal and her, hands in the pockets of his Jack Wills hoodie.

Still holding Julia, the girl with auburn curls pointed at Neal and inquired, "Who's that?"

Julia pushed her gently, making a face that immediately told Neal that this wasn't her best friend at all.

Ah, Julia disliked her.

"This is Neal Williams, a friend. And Neal..."

Julia introduced him to her friends one by one. The short red haired one was Olivia Portman, Giovanni Portman's daughter, the tall girl with straight black hair was Darien Pryce, Edward Pryce's first child and the Indian girl was Poppy Gupta, Mahesh Gupta's daughter.
