ps : there's a bit of drama waiting here. tell me what you think about it.

__________

Unrequited love had some serious consequences stored for the rejected and the rejector. The most common tactic was to avoid the rejector or maybe try to fade the infatuation. Julia had walked out of the ladies room, having refreshed her lipstick, wondering.

Noah wasn't before his locker when she collected her Biology textbook. He was probably already in the class. Noah Clarke's suspension was concluded for he was the bloody star of the college. His punishment was cut short because he was supposed to own this college. She knew she was dramatizing. But he was fucking everywhere.

Was it just a coincidence that they had all these classes together in this situation? No, it wasn't. She had signed up for Biology to be with him. Whom could she blame now?

The college that day was merely an inconvenient place. Along with showering greetings, she had received curious inspections. Heads turned when she arrived her Biology class after the assembly. It wasn't the usual traffic. The assembly, however, couldn't really be delayed for which Headmistress Lewis called Helen Clarke to send her son over and that son had passed by Julia five fucking times without even one glance. She couldn't remember how long it had been since a boy had done that.

A few boys she had seen with Alec before were loitering around the corridor. They slouched in the doorway just at the moment she was walking in. From inside the class, someone whistled. It sounded exactly like George.

Bitch.

Glaring at them, she opened her mouth to speak, her voice smooth yet loud, "Let me in."

Two of the boys blocking her way, stared at each other before one of them said, "In. We want in too, Julia."

The other boy looked confused but after a while, he grinned salaciously, "Yes. We want in too, sweetheart."

"Is there a problem here?" She was as startled as the boys before her were at the voice. Her nose hit Noah's chest when she turned, the scent of lemon and lavender wafting.

"No."

The boys moved out of the way, nearly immediate and resentful. Walking in, she aimed to face Noah. Nevertheless, he ambled in, leaving her staring at the back of his uniform jacket.

Did he just ignore her?

When she slid behind a desk, someone glided a piece of paper from the front before turning away quickly. Frowning, she looked down as it sat alone on the desk beside her Hello Kitty pencil pouch.

Congratulations. You win. - M.H.

The slight Prada-inspired curve on the H strongly suggested Michelle. She leaned forward, her hair falling over both sides of her shoulders in the process, close enough to take a sniff of the paper. It smelled like Hermès. Instinctively, her head whipped up to the far left of the classroom. Michelle was looking. Her cat-like green eyes were puffy, almost vivid from here. She had her hair pulled up in a ponytail, her face was void of makeup surprisingly.

The room fell silent when Mrs. Findley walked in behind the podium. Michelle gave Julia a nod and a blink of an eye before fixing her gaze on the front. Truth to be told, Julia had no idea what she was talking about.

Findley had started to pass out diagrams of the fluid mosaic model. Julia took hers mechanically and wrote her name clumsily at the side of the paper. It was better to think of Neal rather than raking her brain. What was he doing now?
