"Welcome back, students," Principal Lewis smiled, her stern blue eyes on the congregation before her while she stood behind the podium beside the white altar. "...from your relaxing and highbrowed summer holidays. I, myself, had a terrific weekend in Brighton."

By a terrific weekend in Brighton, Sally Lewis, the respective headmistress of the 'Pristine Academy' meant a romantic getaway with her boyfriend Luca Cray. Her father Dominique Lewis, the ex-headmaster, had signed a non-molestation order against Luca for his daughter back in his days when Sally and Luca had been merely students here. Apparently, after all these years they were still together. Rumor had it that in the wild upper sixth cut party just before Luca's nineteenth birthday, Sally had her butt cheeks tattooed, "Fuck me, Luca."

Sally Lewis touched her coiffed red hair slightly as if checking, then added, "The faculty and the staff of our institute look forward to giving you another exciting and fruitful academic year. As is our longstanding tradition, there will be a list of activities taking place throughout this year."

Students from year seven to Upper sixth were present under the golden crucifix suspended ruthlessly high above the altar from the middle of the soaring thirty feet ceiling. It had been modeled after the San Damiano crucifix.

"We also welcome the new students that have joined us in year seven," Sally continued.

Sally Lewis was bloody good at her job. Throughout her years at 'Pristine Academy' as the headmistress, she had no mistakes spotting rising stars among her students. Any bad words against them and she would be successful cleaning the dirt. The rape scandal from when Julia and her friends had been their tenth year had been long-forgotten because of her effort. Although, bringing Alec Michelson back, the crux of the scandal, didn't strike any of the students as a wise decision.

Whispers had filled the chapel this morning, all of them regarding Michelson who sat at the back with the same boys who had been his followers back in year ten. Once upon a time, there would've been Noah Clarke, Ibrahim Nizami and Kevin Murray, sitting beside him, sharing a spliff and rating all the year nine girls.

The good ole' Billionaire Boys' club.

Principal Lewis didn't like the adolescent cliques, ranking higher than others and also was blissfully ignorant of the fact that those very cliques existed in this institute despite having no names related to the royalty.

"How do you think Michelle will take Michelson's return?" Dee snickered from Julia's right, crossing her arms over her chest. "If she goes back to him, at least there will be a break from seeing her making moon-eyes at Noah all the time. Where is she anyway? Shagging all of her cousins in Bristol?"

"I've had enough of this hell already. My eyes are fucking stinging, Dee. Can we take a break from Michelle now?" Liv glared at her friends, her eyes enormous behind her Gucci tortoise-shell framed glasses.
