"No parties, Ibrahim," Noah repeated

"No parties, Ibrahim," Noah repeated. He passed Julia her sherbet before sitting beside her in the dining table. It was cold outside and his ears were red from the gloomy cold weather. Well, London was cold today. It had been experiencing its expected dank spring. While sitting here in the slightly warm dining hall, Julia Eden found herself, choking on her sherbet.

Only ten minutes were left before they were going back to their own classes.

"What party?" Darien looked around curiously.

"His birthday." Jonathan looked straight at Noah as he responded. There was a bottle of diet coke on Luke's tray which he took and poured half of its content into his empty bottle of regular coke. Luke wasn't here to protest, but if he had seen Jonathan gag at the taste of the drink, he would have been delighted.

"Fuck," Julia muttered under her breath, having remembered Noah's birthday. Nobody heard her utter that word though.

"My mom's getting married anytime soon. It's fine if I miss a birthday, guys. Relax."

"That's why I'm throwing it at my place," Ibrahim sighed, spinning the straw of his milkshake absentmindedly, his eyes on the bubblegum pink of his shake. It was such an odd choice compared to his other preferences.

"Oh? Shall I have a say in my birthday party then?" Noah rolled his eyes and gradually smiled as Kevin and Liv marched all the way to them.

"Where have you two been?" Darien looked up from her food, concerned.

"Found her in the locker room, sulking," Kevin replied, tugging Liv by the elbow and then gesturing for her to sit. She took the seat beside Julia and tried to smile when Julia passed her an unwrapped sandwich. But that smile was poor effect and she gave it up.

Around them, some people still whispered and looked whenever they saw Olivia. When they had arrived the first day after the site was shut down, none of these people had been courageous enough to look and comment. But as the hours went by, they grew more relentless and they talked. It didn't matter if it was behind their back or in front of them.

"I got a detention. In case you're wondering," Liv said, and sipped Julia's Dew.

"What?" Almost all of them; Noah, Jonathan, Dee, Ibrahim, Kevin, Julia and Luke who had just arrived with another sandwich, looked so honestly puzzled at her words.

Now one couldn't quite say, poor Liv. She had dated a person almost four years and she didn't know rat's ass about him. She smirked at that bitter thought and swallowed the rest of the dew. Julia could get another one. That smirk about Liv's lips looked like it really wanted to contort into a tremble instead.

"I slapped George," she said the truth. "He was behind me at my English class. All of you were on practice, so you wouldn't know. Ridley, the new English teacher, sent me to a detention after college for that."
