Next morning, Julia woke up with a sore throat, a fever but fortunately not a stuffy nose. Narcissa Eden called Headmistress Lewis when Julia couldn't let out a word without croaking.

And later in her bed under the comforter, she had her dignity crushed to ashes when she saw what she had done when she was high, higher above the clouds as it seemed. She had liked Neal's Instagram posts in a row and there was a response to one of her comments.

JuliaEden_ You're so cute.

Neal_W Thank you. *a blushing emoji*

Fuck my life.

Then she stayed there, wallowing in despair. Her reputation had been marked profoundly before Neal. Now he would think that she was playing him. How could she be such a fucking idiot? Now there was nothing she could do to take those things back.

Internet was forever.

It was around seven o'clock when Julia's phone rang from the nightstand. She reached for it, bumping her little finger on the photo frame of her twin brother and her. It fell down on the creamy shag rug. Julia stared and watched, almost as if this was all happening in a slow-motion. Then she pulled back her duvet and climbed out of the bed, taking her time. The phone kept ringing.

Julia reached for the phone, placing the photo frame carefully in where it was supposed to be and pressed it against her ear, not even looking at the caller ID.

“Good morning,” a male voice said, low and sleepy, almost as if seducing her.

She froze where she sat, for a moment thinking about Neal Williams and then when the voice continued, she sighed of relief.

“How are you feeling now?” Noah Clarke said from the other side. She closed her eyes, listening and appreciating.

“Not very good. But I'm alive,” she murmured, smiling like a lunatic.

“That's why you need to stop being stubborn and start listening to your friends. We always want what's best for you, Julia,” Noah scolded.

“You sound like Keith.”

“You don’t like Keith,” Noah trailed off and silence erupted temporarily. Julia shook her head, rubbing her temple in the process and then spoke, “That doesn't necessarily have to mean that I don't like you, Noah. Grow up.”

“Oh, I'm trying to, trust me,” he said right away, trying to make her laugh.

“You're not funny.” Despite rolling her eyes, Julia smiled at how silly he could be at times. “What's four into fifty six?”

“Two twenty four.” The answer came so fast that Julia felt insecure and started looking around in case he was actually watching her. Of course, it was her imagination. “I am assuming you're not coming today. Good luck convincing Dee."
