I powerwalked back to the broom closet, eager to find somewhere to hide my commonplace book from Duncan. I didn't stop to notice a sudden banging noise coming from inside the orphan's shack, I was in too much of a hurry. I didn't want to think of what would happen if anyone saw what I'd written a few moments ago, anybody who saw it would immediately tell Klaus. If he knew I liked him as more than a friend would just ruin our friendship, and everything would be awkward! The chances of him liking me back are one in a million, and I wouldn't want to risk our friendship for a one in a million chance. Even Mrs Bass could work that one out.

I arrived at the broom closet, silently praying Duncan wasn't back yet, but I wasn't expecting what was on the door. A torn piece of paper was tacked onto it, covered in big scrawls. I did my best to read the rather childish handwriting. "Twins! I'm making you leave this broom closet immediately! Remove all your things and go to the orphan's shack! Don't ask why!"

Seriously? How was I meant to hide a commonplace book from Klaus, when Klaus would be right there? I swear this is child abuse or something like that. There is no way we were all going to fit in that shack! I opened the door and grabbed my spare uniform, and then got Duncan's for him. When Nero said "All your things", I don't think he realised we don't own anything except our uniforms, bags and commonplace books. I sighed and turned back to the shack, the thought of Klaus still appearing in my mind. I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if he did like me back. I'd be happier than I'd ever been since before the fire, and maybe even happier.

I was blown out of my trance when Duncan walked into me, full speed.

"Duncan! Watch where you're going will you?" I said, very annoyed. I looked at his face, he was just staring at me, smiling like an idiot.

"Oh, sorry Isadora. What on earth are you doing with our uniforms?" he asked, though he was still smiling for no reason.

"Nero wants us to move back into the shack with the Baudelaires. Duncan!" I said in a depressed and aggravated tone.

"What?" he asked, snapping back to me.

"Why are you still smiling like that?" I asked, handing him his uniform.

"No reason! I-Um, we're moving in with Violet now? Oh and Klaus and Sunny too obviously! Brilliant!" he said quickly. A bit too quickly. I looked at him suspiciously, to which he turned and started walking to the shack. I looked him up and down. His usually neat hair was just a little bit ruffled, reminding me instantly of Quigley. His hair was always messy like that...something was definitely off. Duncan was always tidy and well-kept, he was always the well behaved one. Quigley was the one who had messy hair, crumpled clothes and looked like he'd just been dragged through a bush backwards. Not Duncan.

We knocked on the door of the metal shack, hoping I wouldn't have to share a hay bale with Klaus. I'd wouldn't get a moment of sleep, I'd be to busy blushing all night. Violet opened the door, almost as crumpled and messy as Duncan was. She smiled shyly at Duncan, not even stopping to notice we'd just appeared with all our belongings at the door. I looked up at Duncan, who was now smiling back and blushing almost as hard as she was! Wait...had something happened between them? Had they been kissing? Oh my lord, they were kissing. From the looks of Duncan's hair, probably frenching too! Ew, ew, ew gross.

"Quagmires! What are you doing here, classes only just finished!" she finally said, looking quizzically at our uniforms.

"Nero wants us to move back in here, for whatever reason. Sorry guys." I said, seeing Klaus sitting with Sunny in the back of the shack.

"Really? We don't mind at all actually..." she said, looking down at her feet and blushing. Something had happened between them! Violet stood to the side, letting us in. Klaus looked up immediately at me, smiling sweetly. I felt heat rising up into my cheeks, I was blushing really badly. I smiled back, looking into those endless chocolate brown eyes of his...

"So, where should we sleep?" I asked, looking around the tiny shack. It was pretty cramped as it was without us in here.

"Duncan can sleep on Violet's hay bale with her, and Isadora can sleep on mine with me. Sunny has her own little one in the corner. Sound good?" Klaus replied, making me blush even harder. Duncan and Violet were nodding enthusiastically, looking at one another with wide grins. Gross. I nodded too, just so i didn't look as nervous and flustered as I felt. I saw a book in Sunny's hands, a little one for kids. Klaus had been teaching her to read. How adorable! I wonder if he'd teach our babies to read...no! Stop thinking about that! Duncan moved over to where Violet's things were, hooking his spare clothes on the hook she'd attached to the wall. Klaus beckoned me over, so I hooked my hanger of clothes onto the one on his side. I sat next to where Klaus was sitting with Sunny on his lap, running his finger over the words as Sunny tried her best to pronounce them. I sat watching her read for a while, then remembered the commonplace book, the page filled with hearts and the fact I had nowhere to hide it. Klaus would definitely want to look at some of my most recent couplets, and I had nothing. I decided I would keep it in my blazer pocket, the inside one so nobody could take it.

"Violet?" I called over to the other side of the shack, where she was giggling at something Duncan probably said.

"Yeah?" she called back, not taking her eyes off my brother.

"Can I talk to you for a moment? In private?" I asked, to which everyone looked at me weirdly. "Girl stuff." I quickly followed it with. Klaus and Duncan blushed a bit and looked away awkwardly. Sunny was still absorbed in the book she was reading.

"Oh, sure." Violet said, following me outside, looking reluctant to leave Duncan. Honestly...

"What is it Isadora?" she asked, clearly trying to hurry me.

"Have you been kissing Duncan?" I asked with a cheeky smile.

"W-what?! I-I...no!" she stuttered, looking embarrassed.

"You have! I know you like each other! Duncan is never messy and he walked full speed into me today in a daze, all blushy with his hair a mess. You have been kissing!" I laughed.

"Fine, we've been kissing a bit, but you can't tell anyone! We aren't dating or anything yet! I could ask you the same about Klaus actually. Do you like him?" she said sneakily.

"No! I absolutely do not like Klaus like that! Not one bit, no, no, no!" I said, crossing my arms and lifting my head up.

"Whatever you say...bet you kiss all the time..." she said, walking back into the shack. I followed her, the thought of kissing Klaus the way Duncan and Violet were kissing making my heart beat fast and my hands sweaty. At least I knew what was going on between Duncan and Violet. Maybe Duncan wasn't such a wuss after all.
