*Elisa's POV*

"Mom!" I shouted, waking her up from her slumber.

"Yes honey?" She responded, sounding drowsy.

"Can we go see the Survey corps?" I asked her.

"Okay," She said, slight sadness in her voice.

'Maybe dad will be there this time,' I thought to myself, the thought that he's not dead still running through my mind.

When I saw the men and women walk through the gate, I couldn't help but notice all of their saddened faces, hung towards the ground in defeat.

"Is there a Mrs. Jones here?" One of the men shouted, making an older woman walk to him.

"What happened to my daughter?" The old woman cried out, which made the man pull out a small bundle of cloth, which, when unraveled, contained a delicate, bloodstained arm.

"We're very sorry," The man said, walking away from the old woman, who was sobbing while grasping onto the limb, the rest of the Survey corps just passed by her.

"Why hasn't dad come home yet?" I asked mom, which made her frown.

"He's not coming back, honey. You need to accept that," She told me, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Okay," I sighed, I know he's not dead, just missing, but it might hurt mom too much if I told her.
