As I walked into the Library, I saw a featured book on a pedestal. The title was Icha Icha Paradise.
"Hmm... wonder what the featured book is about today."
I went over and read the first couple pages of the bright orange book. While reading, I felt my cheeks burn cherry red. I set the book back on the pedestal.
"T-this is... I wanna say terrible, but the dramatic storyline is amazing."
Realizing that this was a book with mature content, I knew that I would have to either sneak the book out, or read it on the spot.
Who would let a nine year old girl check out a porn book?
I decided to just read it in the library itself, in order to not cause trouble.
I quietly strolled over to the Mature-Content books and picked up the same book.
After pre-opening two boxes of Pocky, I dived into the book.
While I continued to read, I noticed that if you passed all the unnecessarily mature dramatic effects, there was a great over arching storyline.
The main character, loved the woman in the story so much, that he did everything to protect her. In order to protect, sometimes you need to keep secrets from the ones you love.
-Flashback (age: 6)-
"Mommy, where is daddy?" I asked.
"He's on a mission baby. He'll be back soon." My mother responded.
"Well, when he comes home, I want to show him all the stuff big brother is teaching me!" I exclaimed.
My mother just responded with a sad smile.
-End if Flashback-
What I didn't know then, was that my father was a cowardly traitor.
When he was leading a mission, he made a mistake and got his comrades in danger. Instead of saving them, he continued on the mission himself and abandoned his comrades. Unfortunately, the enemy caught him and he was killed. His selfish actions caused his downfall.
My mother was protecting me from the sadness and shame he put on our family. But although he was a coward, she still loved him.
"I'll never be like him, I'll always have my friends' backs; and I'll trust they'll have mine."
Lost in thought, I forgot that I was reading, and just stared at the page. Suddenly I was brought back to reality when I heard a bored voice.
"Aren't you a bit young to be reading that?"
I jumped and looked up to see a masked man standing in front of me. I immediately stood up and started stuttering.
"O-oh I was just..."
"Don't worry, you're not in trouble." He chuckled.
The man was clearly a ninja, because he was wearing the Konoha Uniform, and of course the mask. I suspected he was a Jonin, because of his age, which was probably in the late twenties to early thirties.
He had very fluffy silver hair-
"hmm much like mine..."
His ninja headband was slanted downward over his left eye, which made him look even more mysterious.
"Anyway, how old are you, and where are you parents, do they know you're reading that?" He questioned.
"Uh.. I'm nine, and no my parents are..." I mumbled.
"Oh, I see. Well what is your name then?"
"My name is Kye... or my full name is Kyoko Hatake." I responded.
He raised his eye brows, or eye brow I couldn't tell.
"It seems that we are part of the same clan." He stated.
"Huh? Are you a Hatake? I didn't know there were anymore other than my father, and The White Fang of the Leaf." I replied with surprise.
"I am the White Fang's.. uh son. So to answer your question, yes. My name is Kakashi Hatake." He answered.
"Oh wow."
"Anyway, where do you live?" Kakashi asked.
"Uhm, I wouldn't necessarily call it a house, but I live in the forest near the edge of the village. But I go to the Academy, and Iruka-sensei lends me some money." I said.
"By your headband, I can see that you've graduated, and at such a young age, you must be talented." He stated.
"Uhm.. I'm no better than the other students, and almost everything I've learned is from my older brother." I responded uncomfortably.
"Hmm... well why don't you come live with me. I AM your relative. Unless you want to keep living in the forest." He said rather nonchalantly.
"Really!?!" I asked with excitement.
He picked me up and put me in the piggy back position.
"Alright let's go, Kye."
A/N Hey guys, Sorry for the late update, hope you like it so far! Again there was a lot of dialog in this chapter, but I believe it was kinda necessary. :D
