Dear best friend,
I've know you since
we were eleven,
silly, little sixth
graders in
social studies class.
The teacher
had to separate
us because of
our incessant
giggling together
about stupid things.
In seventh grade
we had science
together That girl
was in our class. We all
became
best friends.
Remember that
cell poster we did?
With the smarties
and dum-dums?
That was
epic.
Remember that
papier-mâché...thing
we made? I
have no idea what
it was, but I'm
sure it had a
purpose.
Do you remember
when you two
pretended to be
that boy? All
my friends playing
a joke on me;
it still isn't funny.
You all manipulated
my emotions. I
was desperate
for attention and
you all exploited that.
I'll never forget.
In eighth grade
we had health
and P.E. together.
Man, that
was freaking
great!
Dancing cheeseburgers
and golden spandex.
I love
your dreams.
The girl moved
away and we
were both sad.
Yeah, I missed her,
but I honestly glad to have
you back to
myself.
That year, I started
depressed.
