Chaptèr 19

-later that night-

Astrid's POV.

It finally got to about 9 at night. I missed Hiccup. But it's time to break him out. I got as close to the camp as I could.

I saw a lot of men. And I saw that weird dragon in a cage. As I was sneaking around the camp I saw tracks. Like someone was dragged.

I followed them and got to a cage. I saw hiccup laying there like he was dead. I was going to run up to it till I saw the guard. He looked like a brute.

I snuck up behind him than hit him with my axe. I'm sure he is dead. He got hit in the head. I dragged his body in the bushes and got to the cage.

Than I heard his voice. Hiccup started to look up and said

"What's going-

He stopped when he saw me. I started to tear up from what I saw. He had blood on his face a black eye. He had cuts near his neck. He looked horrible.

He saw I was tearing up and said

"Astrid. I'm ok. Go tell dad."

"I can't leave you! I'm breaking you out!"

"No Astrid! If they see I'm gone they will find us. Go. I'll be ok."

"How do I know that for sure?"

"You don't. I don't know for sure either. Just warn our village. Tell dad I'm sorry."

"Hiccup plea-

"No. Go. He said he won't kill me until my dad watches. Just go. Please. Stay safe."

I was crying. How could I leave him? We have only been married a short time. It's not fair. Why does this have to happen?

I heard noises coming so I did as Hiccup asked. I ran and went back to the cave. I saw Toothless still looking out for Hiccup to come.

It broke my heart. He just starred out to the horizon. I had to tell him though. So I went up to him a put my hand on hot head.

"Toothless?"

He didn't look at me or say anything.

"Bud. We have to go... Hiccup isn't going with us..."

I started crying harder as I spoke. It was terrible. But he looked at me. He had dragon pity.

Than I spoke up again

"Bud. Let's go. We need to tell the village. We will see hiccup soon enough.... Please."

He walked down by Stormfly and I put his autowing on. After that we flew off. Hopefully we will get to Stoick by morning. He needs to know.

Hiccup's POV.

I told Astrid to leave me. She needs to be safe.i sat in the cage doing nothing. I had nothing to do. Than as I sat there I over heard some guards.

"-eh Gregovich was supposed to kill the boy when we found him. Now he has this new plan?"

"I don't know anymore. I just do as I'm told."

"Well I want to know more!"

"Than ask yourself! I'm not getting killed over it!"

"Fine!"

The guards left and I sat there wondering about this new plan. I heard nothing of it. Unless it's just to kill me in front of dad. But he said that and everyone heard... I just fell asleep after.

I woke up to seeing the sun and the cage being carried. It had to be around 6 in the morning. The sun wasn't high up but just over the horizon.

I sat up and the guard noticed. He looked at me and said
