A Hero's Destiny 2 (HTTYD)

Chaptèr 31

-day of battle-

Astrid's POV.

Both Hiccup and I woke up to the sound of the horn. It was only 4 in the morning. It blew 4 times signaling enemy ships.

At that we got up and dressed quick. Hicc put his armor on and sword. Than he said

"Astrid, if I don't come-

I cut him off. I don't want to hear anything like that.

"Hicc, your coming home alive. You have too."

I kissed him and set off on Stormfly. Like I was told I went with the team and led everyone to the cove. It was dark yet but it will be light soon. And war will rage.....

Hiccup's POV.

Ships were seen in the distance maybe a hour out. I raced toward where dad was. He yelled

"MAN THE CATAPULTS!"

As I got to him he looked at me. He smiled and looked out toward the enemy once more. Within half an hour, the ships were in firing distance.

Dad yelled

"FIRE!"

All you saw were 20 boulders flying toward their ships. Only two were hit though. They sunk instantly but the others kept coming.

By the time the catapults would be armed again, their ships would be to close to fire. We waited until we saw their ships land on our docs. Men poured out of them.

No sign of Gregovich yet though. The men raged up toward the opening to Berk. We had Viking shoot as many as we could before they got to us. When they did all Hell broke loose.

We had hundreds of men on both sides fighting. I lost dad and I was against some enemies myself. I had Toothless stay with the team to guard so I was alone.

I fought off what I could and killed men I wish I hadn't. But all war has loss. I fought with all I could. Than I felt something pierce my armor.

I felt blood and it was a dagger sitting out of my shoulder. I sliced the man that used it. As hours went by many were falling. I had that dagger still in me. If I pulled it out, I'd bleed to death.

Once the sun hit mid day, I saw him. Gregovich himself. He was fighting my father. Dad was winning. Than I saw a men about to stab him from the back like me. I ran and killed him before he could.

But when I turned around I saw my dad get stabbed by him. Gregovich fought him off guard and killed him.

"NOOOO!"

I unleashed all my rage upon him. He tried to fight back, but was getting pushed. He could take my strength. The whole battle stopped due to my screaming.

Everyone stared at the fight that was happening. I kept striking Gregovich until his sword shattered. Than he looked at me in horror. He pleaded

"Please. I beg of you."

That when I killed him. I sliced clean through his neck. Cut the head off a snake and the body fails. That's exactly what I hoped for. When the enemy saw their leader dead.

They dropped their weapons. Than one single man who fought for Gregovich came up speaking

"They said you were a dragon conquerer. We didn't believe it. Now your not only that, but the conquere of Stronghamner."

I looked at him in rage. He backed up and headed for their ships. All the men did. My people made sure none came to harm me. I kneeled down to dad, and started to tear up.

Gobber rand off to get the vilifiers that didn't fight. I sat there holding my father. He never got to find out I was having a child. As time past I heard gasps of the people returning.

Than I heard Astrid.

"Hiccup.. Baby... I'm soo sorry."

She knelt down by me and cried with me. It was hard. He was the only family I had until Astrid. He was always there for me. I tried to protect him but I failed.

Than I heard wings flapping. I looked around to see a four winged dragon. I got up to take a look at it but a person with a helmet hopped off.

They began saying

"Hiccup, I'm-

"How do you know my name? Who are you?"

"I'm sorry for your father."

Than they started taking their helmet off. As they did I noticed it was a women. Gobber said

"Oh boy...."

Than Astrid said

"What happened to help?"

I didn't get it. So I asked Astrid

"You know her?"

"Uh kinda..."

"Well who is she??"

Than the mysterious women spoke again.

"I'm your mother Hiccup."

That's when it struck me. I don't know what hurt more. My father dieing, or the fact my wife kept my mother a secret.

At that I asked my mother

"How could you?"

"What do you mean."

She took a step toward me. I backed away. Than Astrid did the same but I kept away from them both. I spoke up asking my mother

"How could you stay away from me and dad? How could you leave us? Why didn't you help us now? When we needed it?"

"Hicc-

"No! Don't try to say Hiccup this or Hiccup that. You could have saved dad. We could have been a real family."

Astrid spoke up after that

"Hiccup. Baby ple-

"Don't you speak either. You met my mother and didn't tell me. What else are you keeping a secret from me?"

"Nothing. Baby....I'm s-sorry."

"Don't Astrid. You either mom. If you really are Valka."

Gobber spoke up quietly but said

"Oh.. That's her alright."

I looked at him. Than Gothi came to me. She pulled my armor for me to kneel down. I did as she wanted. Than she drew the chief crest on my forehead.

As she finished Gobber yelled

"The new Chief of Berk! Hiccup Horrendous Haddock!"

Everyone cheered. I didn't though. I had to many feelings of hurt and betrayal. My own mother and my wife.

At that moment I spoke up

"Tomorrow, we will give my father a Viking burial. Until than, everyone count the dead and clean up."

I walked away at that. I found Toothless and ride off. I needed to be alone.

Astrid's POV.

Hiccup just left. He seemed upset and heart broken. I felt terrible. Than I looked at Valka and asked

"Where were you? How could you?"

I was crying at what happened and at hiccup leaving. Than Valka said

"I didn't make it in time. I was on my-

"Not that, why did you leave?"

"I met cloud jumper. I wanted to protect Hiccup by leaving."

"Well you hurt him more."

At that I walked away myself. It was hard seeing Hiccup so hurt. He had a dagger in him to. I hope he's ok.....
