Chaptèr 21

Hiccup's POV.

I've been running from Gregovich's men for hours. It's about 1 in the afternoon and I still haven't seen Vulcan.

I'm starting to get dizzy from when they hit my head and it's hard to keep going. What's worse is I've seen patrols and men looking for me.

I started looking around for weapons or a place to hide.. Than I noticed a stream. It has to start somewhere.. Maybe it leads to the waterfall by my shelter.

I ran up the stream thinking I might get there. As I was running I noticed footprints of Vulcan. He might still be near that area.

As I ran that way I saw a few men looking around. I can't let them see me. I found a large tree and his in it. Hopefully they won't look up.

It felt like forever after they left. When they did I quietly climbed down and started backing up. Than I hit something.... Oh no..

Astrid's POV.

I just got home with Stormfly and Toothless for dinner. It was around 5 and I started cooking. I made fish and sat down.

I always kept a spot set for Hiccup hoping he would show up. He never did out of the 9 days he's been gone. It hurt...

I fed the dragons after I finished and told them to go to bed. When they were asleep I took a walk around the village.

It was peaceful. Calm and relaxing. The only thing missing was a partner to walk with.. Well that problem was solved quick I saw Snotlout coming at me

"What do you want Snotlout?"

"Well I figured the babe wanted company!"

"Haha no. Go drown!"

"Well that's not nice. I can fill in for Hiccup while he is gone!"

"You couldn't take Hiccup's spot! He's sweet, caring and handsome! Not at all like you!"

"Oh come on I'm all of those. Plus I'm cooler and better!"

"Oh really Snotlout? If you were better, than why am I with Hiccup and not you?"

I could tell that hurt. But like always he had a come back

"Because you like the twerps!"

"Oh that's soo true. I just don't like the pigs!"

After that he was red and walked away. I figured that would get him. He left and Fishlegs was coming up. I can handle him.

"Hey Fishlegs!"

"Hey Astrid! Uh... You mind if we talk?"

"Uh..sure?"

"Ok good... So uh... Did Hiccup ever tell you I had Girl problems?"

He had to mention that. Of all things, he mentions Hicc's name....

"No he didn't tell me... Why?"

"Oh... Well you see me and Ashly Arnt all that happy..."

"Oh?"

"Yeah.... She thinks I like Ruff... But I only love Ruff as a friend... Nothing more.."

"Did you tell Ashly this? I mean come on Fishkegs, you need too."

"That's the thing!!! I already told her!!! She doesn't believe me!"

"Than if it were me, I'd want to go on a date to know that the guy loved me."

"Really?"

"Yeah... Hiccup..... He would do that if I was upset or something..... He showed me he loved me...."

I started crying now. I really miss him. He was there for me and he shows and tells me what I want to see and hear.. He even promises things I know he can't do...

Fishlegs saw me tear up and said

"Astrid it's ok... I'm sure he is fine.. I mean he is Hiccup.. Dragon conquerer, son of Stoick, The dragon rider.."

"I know but he is still Hiccup! He is reckless and sometimes a klutz."

"Yeah.... Very true..."

"Yeah.... But anyway take her on a date... Show her you love her and would do anything... That's what you need to do."

"Thanks Astrid.... And keep your hopes up... I mean He bested that Gregovich guy before.. Only 2 people have now. He can do it again.."

"Thanks.."

I gave him a hug and he left me alone. I was still walking around the village and I didn't care if people saw me. A few people had even come up to me and said

"I'm sorry for ye loss."

Or

"Hang in there, he'll come back to ya"

I liked the second one everyone would say. I mean I need to have hope. I need to wait for him..

After a few hours I ended up at his spot. The spot he goes to think. The cliff... I sat there where he normally is and thought about the time we were together here.

The time when it was me and him. Before our marriage but a great time. I teared up thinking about the memories we had.

It's not every day that you have times like we had. I even remembered the times before we were even a couple.

Like the flightmare.. Or bing bang and boom. Those 3 little dragons were trouble makers. But all in all it was all about him.

I need to find him. Maybe I should leave and try tomorrow. That's a good idea....

Hiccup's POV.

It's been a few hours now since I bumped into that thing. And I didn't believe who it was.. VULCAN!! I finally found the big guy.

I got on his back and he walked to a large mountain range where he must like. It had all I needed to survive.

Than after I are something I actually liked and drank as much as I could I asked him

"Hey buddy, can you fly?"

He looked at me. So I asked again but this time I waved my arms like I was trying to

"Fly? You know wings!"

He seemed to understand that. He lift his wings up and I swear, all of Berk could live on his wing span.

So I asked this time

"Tomorrow can you give me a ride to my island?"

He looked at me and nodded. Well that was easy enough. I thought he'd give me more trouble.

I had to climb up his wing as he put it down. I didn't mind and it was nice being on a dragon. I couldn't wait to get on my own..

With his wing span I'll be home within like 5 hours. That's perfect. I'll be able to see Astrid and Toothless. I can't wait....

I'm sorry for this late and probly shirt update. I got a day off work today but ended up getting a job bailing hay... I've been up since 6 this morning and it's now almost midnight.... It sucks. I'm really sorry though. Enjoy. Comment if you like, don't if you didn't.
